I got a couple of asks like “How to make my game look beautiful? I’m new to the Sims 2, any tips? Why is your game so bright? The grass so green? The water so reflective??” and so on. I decided to make a guide for new ts2 players that will help to answer all such questions. In general, I just gathered all the basic information about my musthave mods/defaults/cheats/photoshop editing/creating hood/downloading CC and more and more. So, if you’re new for the world of the Sims 2 and want to know how to improve your gameplay pictures, this “Starter pack” guide is what you need! Speed Up and/or Fix Your Game MasterPost

Greetings! I’ve seen so many posts scattered all over the corners of the internet that give some great tips and tricks for speeding up or fixing your game. I got tired of hunting them down every time I re-install my game so I compiled them all into one place. MOODLET TEMPLATES PSD

I’ve always wanted to have moodlets on my gameplay screenshots but no matter what I did, they were always destroyed after editing, would get pixelated when I tried blowing them up a bit, and look like doughy mess when I tried softening them. So I made some templates that are as close to EA’s as possible. 

They are 538 x 302 so they won’t lose their resolution when scaled down. You get a happy/green base moodlet, as well as 12 other ones for each mood. Each layer is labeled, you can edit the text fields for each moodlet, and the mooblet bar (the colored part) then when you’re satisfied just hide the background layer and merge visible layers. Then you can just copy and paste it onto your screenshots and scale to your liking. You can find all the moodlets here on the Sims Wikia.

I released the NoGlo mod about a year and a half ago to remove the blu-ish lighting and halo effect on Sims and I figured it was time to update it.

I’ve fixed NoGlo so that Sims don’t look overexposed indoors and outdoors in certain lighting conditions, along with a couple other tweaks. Sims are still brighter compared to the vanilla game lighting but they are less affected by bright lights now.

I will keep up v2 just in case anyone prefers it over v2.1.

Here’s a quick tutorial on how I take screenshots next to the street in San Myshuno! (Sorry I couldn’t tag you simplytiara.  Tumblr’s being dumb.  Someone please tag them for me if you can.)  

This method works for most places where you want to go off lot, but this tutorial is specifically for how I take street shots in San Myshuno.

I used this tutorial by @hirasims​!

As Hira mentions, you’re gonna need the Pose Player by Andrew for this to work!

1.  Go to the Arts District.

2.  If you look from behind the Art Center, I go off to the left in that red square.

3. Get your sim close to the fence, facing forward.

4.  Swing your camera around.  You will probably have to use the Tab mode camera since it’s off lot.

5.  That’s when you follow Hirasim’s tutorial and enter a_loco_default_walk_avoidance_RFoot_x into the Pose Player “Pose by Name” option’s text box.

6. Your sim’s on the move!  Keep your finger over that pause button!  Otherwise you’re gonna have to reset them and start over again!

7. Once your sim is close to the street, you may notice they’re facing the wrong way!  No matter how much you yell at them to “FACE THIS WAY!”, they won’t listen since they’re hard-headed.  This is when you pull up the “Pose by Name” option again & put in a_loco_default_turnAndGo_R_90_short_x

Your sim will start turning around and won’t stop until you cancel the action.  So again keep your finger on the pause button and cancel when you get your sim at the angle you want.

8. Then you can pose them using the “Pose by Pack” option.

9. Let your sims work it!  When you’re done, just turn testing cheats on, shift-click them, and hit reset.  They’ll pop back near the fence!
