Since now we know Shinya apparently "died" before but was resurrected by Guren, I'd like to think that when gureshin were fighting Crowley, Guren's probably panicking on the inside and was very determined to save Shinya like "I lost him once, I won't let that happen again" and I'm just asdfghflakhgjakdgks cos he cares ;_;

But what strucks more is that, yes, once he is with Shinya fighting against crowley…
He reacts instantly, HE SCREAMS ‘LET HIM GO’ he doesn’t doubt about running away and asks away how badly is…and then he THROWS himself in front of Crowley and tells all his team and Shinya to leave, to go…
Hell, DO YOU EVEN IMAGINE HOW BAD HE FELT?
He didn’t wanted to lost them again, the only thing he still has, because he lost everything already, he is always risking himself in the name of the people he cares for…he is always saving them, he EVEN GOT INTO THE DAMN CELL WHERE SHINYA IS KNOWING SHINYA MAY SHOOT AT HIM…and he didn’t even flinched
