The Lanes.Draco x Reader x George 24
I hide in a section of the garden, that was a secret to any visitors to the mansion. I feel so stupid, I actually thought that maybe the whole Liam thing was what was bothering him. But no, itâs the fact that his past snogging partner will be here tonight, he must feel some romantic way about her. I have so many thoughts going through my head, and honestly, Iâm not ready to take it through with Draco. But there is one thing I know, I plan on wowing everyone at dinner tonight, and act like nothing bothers me. Iâd rather seem cold and collected, then caring, and naĂŻve. So, I used magic to climb up to my window, I checked and saw that Draco wasnât there, so I went in. I ran to the door and locked it. âbastard, didnât even come look for me.â I walked into my closet and pulled out a dress I would have never dreamt of wearing before tonight. It was appropriate enough to wear in front of Dracoâs parents and my mom; but revealing and tight enough to give off the aura I want the Greengrasses to get and Draco.
After I got done doing my hair and makeup, I slide my clothes off and my dress on. I walked to the mirror and smiled, I look almost like a different person, and as much as I want to say maybe Draco wouldnât approve of other people seeing me dressed like this; the fact that he didnât look for me makes me wonder. âFuck him!â I heard a knock on the door, âitâs me,â my mom said. I walked over and unlocked it, âhow do I look?â My mom looked at me like she was going to cry, âyou look beautiful, baby. Donât be nervous, you already got the Malfoyâs stamp of approval.â I sighed, âyeah, then why are the Greengrass siblings coming. Is she my replacement, if I act up?â Mom rubbed my cheek, âno, the letter said that the sister insisted on coming. She was also childhood friends with Draco and said she wanted to get to know his future wife.â I snorted, âoh, believe me, Iâm not the one she wants to get closer to.â Mom smiled, âI know, thatâs way Iâm so glad my amazing daughter, is going to make everyoneâs heads turn. And that bitch will know he is yours.â I laughed, âmom! Thatâs not like you to talk like that.â âI know, but youâre my child, and I can see how you feel about Draco, I would be willing to kill anyone that threatened your happiness.â I smiled, trying hard not to cry, âwhat if he decides he wants her and not me.â âThen he is an idiot, and heâll eventually realize that leaving you would be the biggest mistake of his life. But I hate to inform you that the guest are here. Iâm going to go down first. And then you come in alone, that way all eyes are on you.â I swallowed, âone question, does she look better than I do?â Mom chuckled, âsweetie, no one could look better than you, tonight.â
I tried to calm my breathing as I stood at the last doorway before everyone sees me. This feels clique, Iâll be making a grand entrance walking down steps, like in all the movies. No matter what, I have to pretend like nothing bothers me, just for one night.
I took a deep breath and postured my body to look perfect. I stepped out and walked to the top step, âthere she is,â my mom stated. I looked around at everyone, while I walked down the stairs. It seemed like everything was in slow motion. My mom was smirking, they Malfoyâs looked pleased, the man I assumed to be Liam looked like he was undressing me with his eyes, Astoria look displeased as she looked at Dracoâs reaction, and Dracoâs reaction was the best of all. If peopleâs eyes could turn into hearts, his would be. He looks speechless and visibly shook; and without a second thought he walked towards me and met me at the bottom step. And even though I was still incredibly mad at him, I refused to let it show. So, I accepted his hand, âyou lookâŚ. You look...,â Draco spoke, now he was really speechless. âYou look magnificent,â I turned my head to see that Liam was the one to finish Dracoâs sentence. I frowned for a moment, I didnât want his complement, I wanted Dracoâs. Draco looked at Liam, with a look of pure hatred. My mother cleared her throat, âlet us head to the dining hall to eat.â Narcissa smiled, âyes, let us.â While Lucius seemed to be looking between Draco and Liam. I swallowed worried.
We all sat down with Draco at my side, Liam across from me, and his sister was sitting next to him, across from Draco. This pissed me off. Usually married couples sit across from one another, but since Draco and I arenât married yet, it wouldnât be appropriate. But Astoria looked like a smug bitch at the fact she is sitting across from him. Through all of this I kept a straight face, reminding myself to act like nothing bothers me. Small talk was made throughout dinner, but mostly it was my mom and Dracoâs Parents doing all the talking.
When everyone was done eating, my mom spoke up, âThe Malfoyâs and I have some private matters to discuss, I hope the four of you can entertain one another.â I nodded, but then I heard Astoria speak up, âquiet, I actually had some things I wanted to speak to Draco about in private,â she then turned to me, âcan you please keep my dear brother company.â As much I wanted to physically harm this girl, I knew all eyes were on me. So, I smiled, âof course, what kind of host would I be, if I didnât entertain guests. Liam and I will be in the west parlor, you two can converse in the library across the hall.â My reply seemed to annoy her, and Draco too look confused, thinking I would say no.
After Liam and I walked into the West parlor, I closed the doors, because mother says itâs not right to leave the doors open. I turned to him, âwould you like a drink? Iâm not old enough to drink, but you are.â He smiled, âthank you, but left my pour it, what kind of gentleman would I be if I let a minor pour me a drink.â I nodded, you pointed towards the alcohol. After pouring himself a drink he looked at me, âyou most women would not want to be engaged while they are a minor.â I smirked, âthatâs funny, you refer to me as a minor and a woman in the same sentence.â He chuckled, âwell, I would usually refer to someone your age as a child, but with that dress on, you clearly are not that.â I swallowed, not knowing what to say, âis that so.â âYes, it is. Tell me, does it bother you that Draco and my sister are alone together, right now?â I snorted, âdoes it bother you that you and I are alone together right now,â I asked turning towards him, only to gasp at how close we were. He smiled, âthis is true, but itâs a bit different seeing as you and I have only just met. Even though Iâve heard much about you. Youâre basically the girl that got away. My parents wanted to set up an engagement between us, but the Malfoyâs won.â I took a step back and walked towards the window, âyes, I just found out about that this morning.â I heard him walk up behind me, I could feel the heat radiating off his body. I turned, âyou probably should be this closed.â I looked up at him, finally taking in his appearance. Has styled black hair, green eyes, handsome features, tall and muscular. I took a step back, causing my back to hit the wall. He looked down at me, âI apologize if I made you uncomfortable.â He then lifted my hand up, kissed it, and walked back to the refreshment table.
It annoyed me, I just want the âguestâ to leave so I can take to Y/n, we never got to take about what happened this morning. And all Astoria is doing is talking about irrelevant things. I groaned, âdonât do this. You arenât here for small talk, youâre here for other reasons. Iâm not interested, all we did was snog a few times. Besides Iâm in love with Y/n.â She laughed a bit, âDraco, sweetie, first off it was more than a few things. And second thatâs not why Iâm here. I mean donât get me wrong, I wouldnât miss out the chance to be here tonight, but Iâm not the one who was dying to come. My brother was, he just had to see the girl that, âgot awayâ. And from what I can tell, he likes what he sees. You better watch out and hold on to your girl with a death grip.â I frowned, thinking about what she just said, âthen way did you request to be alone with me?â She smirked, âshe Liam and Y/n could be alone together obviously. Seeing as you know the true now, you might want to make your way to the west parlor, Iâm going to the bathroom, see you there.â
With that I rushed out of the room and down the hall, only to run into my father. He looked displeased, âhow could you be so stupid, agreeing to be alone with another woman, that isnât your future wife. Disgraceful, itâs clear that that Liam what Y/n, and here you are. You better not dishonor our name, by letting he take her from you. Y/n is the best you are going to get, so go be a man and intervene,â he partly shouted. I bowed my head, yes, father.â And continued to run to where they were, I busted through the doors, the see the worst thing.
