I want to draw characters and for the viewer to grasp that the feelings they have for each other are the neutrally positive feelings of coworkers or in-laws but at the intensity of star-crossed lovers. And that it is still 100% platonic. They will not fall in love. They probably won't become best friends. But they will risk their lives to keep each other safe. And I must state that it can't just be a case of "these characters would do that for anyone". No, even if the characters would do that for anyone, the other character must be a special case for them on account of their qualitatively mild but quantitatively immense feelings for each other. It is a prerequisite that they look forward to their shared, honestly pretty mid bingo nights with such fervor that it's a little scary. Intense amicability. Load-bearing acquaintances.

With that being said, what a conceptually ridiculous garment. A long, thin piece of fabric that serves no functional purpose, like a scarf would, and gets in the way if you bend down to do something. And they're typically not even super decorative like something like a necklace or a bow tie would be. They're a bit silly when you think about it
