A bit about socks proxies
You may have noticed that some tested proxies don’t work for you. Hopefully, you've noticed mine are more reliable than most. Something I leant a while ago might help to explain this.
The odd things about socks proxies is, they don’t work equally from every entry point. Some will work for you and not for me. In order to identify the ones that work for most people, you have to check them from more than one place and the more places the better.
Obviously, I don’t have time to check from all 196 countries (yes I'm counting Taiwan) but I do check every list from three separate locations. Most proxy finders don’t bother to do this, because they’re exposing working proxies to have them closed.
This is perfectly valid point of view, but my position is anti censorship, so I'm aiming for reliability. I hope they get closed in time for all sorts of reason, but I hope they can be useful in the meantime. People in China need socks. They’re really hard to block because they’re so flexible and easy to set up.
I've moved my socks listings over to http://hastebin.com/about.md
I was reading a book about composers, and at the end of each chapter I wrote a one sentence summary of each composer. these are the sentences.
ludwig van beethoven: angry dude who had no care for social norms
franz schubert: short poet with very supportive friends
hector berlioz: early romantic who could barely play an instrument, created the modern orchestra, was overly-jealous and borderline-insane, and dissected stuff
robert schumann: emo piano critic
frederic chopin: the paganini of piano who got turned on by female voices apparently
franz liszt: ego ego ego ego and warts
felix mendelssohn: jewish german dude–fun combo
richard wagner: God according to himself and hitler
johannes brahms: testy guy who wrote “beethoven’s 10th” (CLARAAA!!!!)
hugo wolf: sort of a failure who went insane. sadness
richard strauss: he liked money and was obedient to his wifeÂ
peter tchaikovsky: sad homosexual russian man
Tag yourself I’m Schumann
That’s a bit worrying. I always really liked  #berlioz
That Ferrari died on me, after only 3 months. I forgot all about that.

I'm back again and using my oldest laptop so far
An Acer ferrari. I'm not even sure how old, 10 years maybe? I got it on freecycle, locally, a few months ago. It was thrown away because it wouldn't run windows 7. I runs Debian just fine thought. To be honest, it's having some trouble with Chromium, laden as mine is with all manner of extensions, but it's managing for now.
I haven't used tumblr in a very long while
I guess my ability to do so means I wasn't one of those whose account was lost?
Installing software in #Bohdi #Linux is a bit different to most distros, but I like it
I like this photo; really nice lightwork

The problem with all these PRISM denials is: if the US Gov has enough leverage to extract the data; then they obviously have enough leverage to pressure the same companies into denying it's taking place and therefore we will never know

New Carnivorous Sponge Looks Like A Harp
10,000 feet below the ocean’s surface, scientists recently discovered the harp sponge, a new carnivorous species. Clinging with root-like “rhizoids” to the soft, muddy sediment, the harp sponge captures tiny crustaceans and slowly digests them.

an excellent and balanced assessment of the evidence. Well worth a listen.

Targeted Ads
If targeted ads worked exactly the way they're sold, we'd all love 'em to death. We'd only see ads we liked and all data tracking would be opt in. We'd be told exactly what we were giving away and we'd have unlimited access to our own data. We could specify what sort of ads we wanted to see and get to find out exactly how much they earned the collector and its affiliates

Interview: Niger’s Very Large But Sadly “Normal” Malnutrition Situation A complex series of nutritional crises is unfolding across the nations of Africa’s Sahel region. MSF director of operations Dr. Jean-Clément Cabrol has just returned from southern Niger. In this interview, he describes what he found and why a new approach is needed to treat the children who bear the brunt of the region’s chronic food insecurity. Is there a food crisis in Niger? If you’re asking if the situation is exceptional, then the answer is no. In Niger, food access problems that trigger widespread malnutrition are unfortunately recurrent. In 2011, which was not even considered a crisis year, more than 300,000 severely malnourished children were treated throughout Niger, and not only by MSF. This year, that figure could reach 390,000. Read the rest of the interview here. Photo: A child is weighed at the MSF integrated health center in Dakoro District, Maradi region. Niger 2012 © Julie Remy

When I was child there was no copyright theft. We had apple scrumping though
Not far from where we lived, there was a public footpath, bordering an orchard and when we were about 11 a few of us would climb the fence and sit in the orchard eating the apples. We rarely took any with us, because we were in no hurry. The orchard was surrounded by open fields and obviously many miles from whoever owned it. We lay in the orchard eating and socialising. As time went by our little group dwindled, moving on to secondary school and beyond. None of us ever went back to the orchard. It was never about the Apples. It was about the sharing.
