"Gideon?" Her voice showed sceptism. She never really felt that 'psychic kid' or whatever was a good companion, but to the point to make people actually lose their home... She knew he had his eye on the Mystery Shack for a while but... The guy looked like if he were to hurt a fly he'd do it with a flower petal "Ok, what happened, exactly?"

"Well it's a really long story..." Mabel started, not sure how to put it into words. She could write a whole book on this by now! It almost felt like a bad dream. It always seemed like the twins were unstoppable, but now reality had smacked her in the face. She pulled on the neck of her sweater a bit, prepared to go into Sweater Town. "We dated.. it didn't work out.. and then he was always trying to get the shack, but this time... he summoned some sort of triangle guy and even when we stopped him, he still got the deed to The Shack.."

She then listened to her talking: she didn't just let chance to tease Mabel pass. "Oh. I get it. Yeah, I'm fine. Ok, now I'm just being polite here, not really wanting to know." She actually did. It was the first time she saw someone actually lose a house in any way "And you?"

Well that was a relief. Mabel thought she might of been sick or something. "Well, things could be better. Augh, if it weren't for Gideon, none of this would of happened!"

Huh? Where did that come from? She seemed strange, somehow? "I'm ok. Why?"

"Well usually when I mention we could be friends, you tell me that it's a stupid idea, or something like that. But you didn't this time. What gives?"

Pacifica wasn't really listening, she was mumbling that she would probably have to go to Nathaniel's Tomb now, and gave her shivers. Argh. She did kinda hear the first part, though. "Me saying thank you is kind of a lame request to me, really, but whatever works, I guess." She turned around to go. "See ya, silly"

Hm, Pacifica seemed a little strange. Maybe she hadn't heard her? Usually that kind of comment would be greeted with a 'You? Friends with you? Don't make me laugh'. The nickname was new. "Hey Pacifica... I don't usually ask this, but, are you okay?"

She sighed. Well, so much for that. "Thanks anyway, I guess." She was about to turn around to go when she remembered. She sighed again. "What do you want, then?"

Hearing Pacifica say thanks was a huge surprise to Mabel. She never expected a girl like Pacifica would say thank you. "What do I want? Well I mean I didn't do anything, so I don't really need anything. Besides, hearing you say thank you was enough! You know, maybe you aren't as bad as I thought. Maybe we could even be friends!"

"Yes..." The word came out a little strangled, she cleared her throat, took a deep breath and let it all come out at once "Look, you and your brother are the ones who uncovered my family's deepest secret, apparently. One my parents didn't tell me about. I want to know everything I can now. I was going to ask your brother but apparently he's not around, so all that's left is you. And I want to know." she finally breathed. Mabel. Of all people! Mabel! She wanted to slap herself for being there now

Oh. So it was about that. Mabel scratched the back of her head, trying to find the right words. "Well, I hate to say this, but I don't know a whole lot either. Dipper handed you all the information we knew about. Infact, he kind of gave you the only copy. Dumb move on his part."

"Oh, you know, the usual." she said even though it wasn't really true "And you, still being silly?"

"Kinda hard to be silly when your house was destroyed. I heard we're moving in with Soos's mom!"
