Romantasy interactive fiction about the werewolves of the Forest Kingdom.
Wolf Bride - Spring has launched, it is out, you can read it!
You can also read my devlog on itchio's own site, but I wanted to put up a brief excerpt of it here as well:
Recently many writers in the community have received hate comments and hate asks about polyamorous content and polyamorous routes. I myself was included, but seeing the comments some other creators received, I got off easy and was not bothered by it - until I realised this is a thing so many people are going through right now, some to the point of it counting as harassment.
Wolf Bride is tagged as polyamorous. It has polyamorous content. This does not just mean polyamorous routes, it means that polyamory as a concept is viewed in positive light. Naturally this game is a lot of other things; it is not a game about polyamory.
It is a game about the Land of Forest and Night, about werewolves, about trauma. About being an offering and growing into your power, whatever that might mean to you. About romance, about adventure and about forming strong bonds, romantic and otherwise. About finding your pack and found family.
But it has polyamory in it.
If this bothers you to the point that you would feel the need to leave angry comments about it, or to go harass creators who create this kind of content, I would have a humble request for you: please go read something else. This game might not make you happy, it might make you very unhappy indeed, and it gives nothing to me to make people unhappy with my creations.
Majority of all the content in the world is geared for monoamorous people. Monoamory is the norm, and as such, romance and romantasy tends to gear towards it. There is a lot you can read out there that has nothing to do with polyamory! Where polyamory will not be mentioned at all!
This game is not one of those things, and I am hoping that no creator will have to go through the kind of harassment some people have seen over this subject. As I mentioned before, I was spared, and this has not affected me to any notable extent. But since this is a currently ongoing wave of hatred targeting many, many creators online, I wanted to share my stance on it.
