That's where it started. You were only a few months younger but don't think even for a second that stopped him from calling you a youngin'. Since he was 12 he told you he was going to a summer camp, thinking you wouldn't understand. Because how could you? You're a mortal.

Everything changed though once HE turned 16. Because you were still 15, as he wouldn't shut up about. (don't call him unc though he'll block you). He was about to leave for camp in a week, as normal and of course you're helping him pack because he'd bring one pair of underwear and mouthwash and call it enough. So, as a good friend you made a list and helped him pack.

You barge into his room as he packs, "Yo," you say as you flop onto his bed.

"Dude, off my clothes?" Percy says while shoving you a little.

You groan and slide onto the floor, "how much you have done so far?"

"uhhhh, what was the second thing on the list?" He asks.

You look at him confused, "socks?"

He nods, "okay so im not finished with the first one yet."

"Dudeee!" You sigh, standing up and standing next to him, "lemme help."

"Gross, you wanna touch my socks?" He elbows you, as you grimace at him.

Sally knocks gently on the open door and comes in, "hey sweetie..."

You smile at her, as she looks at you a little nervous. She sits on the bed, "I need to tell you something.. your mother wanted me to tell you."'

"You and Percy have something in common, sweetheart. Your dad... he.." Sally tries to find the words so this isn't nearly as painful as it was with Percy.

"Mom. What are you saying." It wasn't a question. There was no need for an answer, Percy knew the answer. He was staring at her.

Percy can't have the one of the only stable person in his life be like him. Be constantly in danger or fearing for their life like him. He looks around, before storming off. Sally sighs, you furrow your brows.

"Percy, where are you going?" You ask as he storms off.

He ignores you and walks out the front door.

About an hour later Sally tells you about your father and how you're a demigod and you like halfway believe her. Percy still hasn't come back, and you think you know exactly where to find him. You go to find him at the lake near central park, he loves to just be anywhere near water or anything to do with sea life. It's why he still loves the aquarium at 16.

Just as you thought, you find him there watching the water and sitting on the grass.

"You're gonna get grass stains all over your butt." You say lightheartedly.

He just sits there and doesn't say anything, just staring at the lake. All he could think about in that hour was all the life threatening quests he went on and how that only happened because he's a demigod and now you might have the same life as him. You might be in danger that much now, just like him. And that scares the shit out of him. He couldn't stop thinking about what he'd do if you were hurt, let alone killed. He couldn't stop, it was replaying in his mind. Over and over and over again. He couldn't lose you. Not in a 'loyalty is my fatal flaw' sort of way, in a 'I can't live without her' kind of way. He loves you.

Oh shit.

He loves you.

...shit.

You sit down next to him, "Perce are you good?"

He looks at you, "are you? are you a half-blood too? please tell me your not. Reader, I can’t deal with you being in danger constantly like me. Please."

You look at him, you've never seen him so upset besides when thinking or talking about Gabe.

"Percy..."

"Reader. I love you. I seriously love you. Like so much, I couldn't live without you. I need you to be safe. I need you to be safe." He says softer.

Your face softens a little as you look at him, chewing on your bottom lip.

ETHAN:

-mopes around

-doesn't really go out for the next few days

-pushes people away

-doesn't nearly eat as much as before

-really only talks to benny afterwards

BENNY:

-pretends to not care (he DOES)

-stares at pictures of you everynight

-gets meaner

-the only one i think that doesn't cry

-overall he sorta acts the same

RORY:

-he walks around you like a lost puppy dog

-everytime he sees you in the hallways at school he waves at you and would get thouroughly upset

-he's always trying to win you back whether that begging, trying to make you jealous, or trying to impress you

-his attitude is practically the same but just a little more mopey

-he just wants you back bro

-okay so i kinda already did general hc's so this will be dating hc's

-such a dork in love. puppy dog eyes everytime he looks at you, all that's playing in his head is "blah blah blah proper name place name backstory suff."

-always touching you in some way or another. whether thats making out on Ethan's couch or interlocking pinky's at lunch. its a subtle comfort since you guys are always in danger. and a fun way to make Ethan mad :)

-he seems like he's allergic to cats. idk if that was ever said, but girl i have a cat and he would just have to get over it or something idk.

-pet names are a big one. he doesn't do cheesy ones in public, MAYBE a babe or honey. but in private he comes up with these big ol' ugly cheesy ones. "my little falafel waffle 🥹"

-glazes you so hard. tells you how pretty and beautiful you are no matter how you feel or look or even if you two are fighting. he's barely had a girlfriend before and he's not letting you go soon.

-modern day benny would LOVEEE to participate in the stupid couple trends and he wouldn't even complain brotato chip. he loves you so of course he'll let you showcase your love for each other, no prob.

-promise ring. that he stole from his grandma...

-surprisingly good kisser, won't go too cray with that one...

-rubs your back, feet, etc. if you've had a bad day or just simply ask him. he'll complain and be like "ughhh i guesss. but a kiss first."

-constantly praises you for everything. good grade on a test? "oh my goshhh babe. let's go get ice cream and celebrate. or do you want coffee? or just a chill movie night at mine? yknow what? let's do all 3!"

-he lovesss to kiss you. it's his fav. face, lips, neck, jaw, collarbones, etc. he loves to kiss you.

your eyes go wide and glassy, you gasp and slap your hands over your mouth. your hand moves away and you nod, not able to move your mouth. everyone around you guys cheers as percy stands up, putting a ring on your finger and kissing you. you cup his face, deepening the kiss. your waiter brings two chocolate cake slices with sparklers instead of candles, and two glasses and a champagne bottle. the waiter pops the bottle for you both and says congrats.

Usually when either of you "propose" in public, it was either with a ring the other person already has or with some cheap one in those like gum-ball machine things. You stare at the ring on your left finger, it looks more expensive than the usual ring? He's also never said something so sentimental and sweet with his past proposals? maybe he wanted it to be more believable and sweet since we're at a fancier restaurant than normal! he's also never kissed you after a "proposal" either though..? well, also you guys have done this like 6 or 7 times by now. maybe he just wanted to switch it up a little!

you stare at him, squinting and glaring as he happily eats his chocolate cake. he looks at you wide eyed then furrows his brows, "what?!"

his voice was muffled by the chocolate cake, chewing with his mouth open. something you've scolded him for before. you grimace, "gross! close your mouth! you're disgusting perseus!"

he slumps his shoulders and pouts, swallowing his food. "you're being so mean to me! i just proposed to you, pretty!"

"wait. so, it was real this time?" you tilt your head with your eyebrows furrowed this time.

percy's jaw goes slack as he squints at you, trying to see if youre being serious right now. "pretty girl. you thought that ring was part of a fake proposal?! no!"

"oh."

"oh?!" all he could do was laugh, "[insert reader's name], i love you so much. i can't wait to spend the rest of my, hopefully long, life with you."
