Silas raised his eyebrows. “What do you mean by that?” he question confused.

“So you’re still at Ilvermorny, I hear.”

“Oh, yeah, I’m helping teach Arithmancy and also learning to become an Arithmancer,” Silas replied. “I heard you work for MACUSA now.”

“Sorry to disappoint you,” said Micah, in a tone of voice that clearly showed he wasn’t sorry at all.

“Yeah, sorry,” Silas replied.

“That’s so sweet.” She smiled up at him. “Thank you, I would love it. So you went to Ilvermorny?”

Silas nodded. “Yeah, I was a Horned Serpent,” he replied. “I’ve never seen you around, did you go Ilvermorny?”

“Not gonna happen,” said Micah firmly.

“That’s a real shame,” Silas replied. “Thought I’d get a yoga buddy.”

“Oh no, sweetie. Don’t apologize.” Beverly purred. “Sounds great.”

Silas smiled a bit in response. “May I pay for yours? Or are you not okay with that?”

“Silas, I am not doing yoga. You roomed with me for seven years and you really think I’d do that?” Micah shook his head.

“No, but I think it’d be funny,” Silas replied.

Micah glared at him. “Yes, I know the meaning of the word. What do you suggest I do, take up yoga?” The idea was so absurd, Micah almost laughed.

“Actually, yeah,” he replied. “I think that would really chill you out.”

“Don’t…” but it was too late. Micah scowled. “Why did you do that?”

“She was looking over here? What am I supposed to do? Pretend I don’t know her? It’s not like you were subtle.”

“What’s it about?”

“A tragedy about a Danish Prince. Y’know, Hamlet by Shakespeare,” he replied.

“Good. Want to get some cocoa?” She grinned and held out an arm for the awkward looking boy. “I don’t bite– well, maybe if you ask nicely. But for the most part, you don’t have to look at me like that.”

“Sorry,” he apologized. “And sure, I’ll get some cocoa.”

“Dude, you gotta admit, it’s a little weird having you back in the classroom.”

“What? Why?” Silas questioned. “How else do you think I’m going to become a Arithmancer?”

“I was just looking around,” said Cory. He nodded toward Silas’s book. “Anything interesting?”

Silas looked down at the book. “Oh, uh, it’s alright, not one of my favorites though. I can let you borrow it when I’m done if you want.”

Micah glared at him. “Just tell me when she’s gone.” His body ached to run to her and hold her in his arms, but he knew that was out of the question.

Silas waved at Lo when she looked over, but just like that she had disappeared with her friends. “She’s gone,” he said to Micah. “But I can’t guarantee that she didn’t see you.”
