"No." It didn't occur to Everett that maybe Sonny wanted to see if he'd try to say goodbye to the guy he nearly hooked up with or anything else. Everett didn't really care about anyone else there, but that was only part of the reason he was frowning. "If you have a driver, why am I hoping you don't put me in your lap?" It wasn't a come on, it was a genuine question that warred with the oddity of Sonny having a driver. Maybe it was because of how long they'd known each other, but sometimes Everett forgot that Sonny was supposed to be someone popular and important. "Hi, Steve." Was it some kind of common thing to have a driver or was Sonny just being lazy, Everett didn't know and was fully prepared to interrogate the driver on what kind of passenger Sonny happened to be, except the man beat him to talking and gave Everett an entirely new reason to question him because what did he mean that he'd heard about Everett? What the fuck had Sonny said about him? When? And why? "Hey, I wanted to hear about that. Steve, we'll catch up later, okay?" Everett said quickly, trying to get the words out before the partition finished closing. "I'm going to chat with him." It was a promise as well as a warning as Everett laced his fingers together with Sonny's, relaxing into the seat only to immediately start to tense up again. If not for Sonny prefacing his statement with I want to fuck you, Everett's mind would have gone spiraling down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what happened between the wall inside and the car to make Sonny change his mind, what he'd done that damn fast. Even with that, Everett still felt off-balanced by the remark, letting out a breath as he pushed down the urge to lash out. "Keep talking." He said after possibly too long of a silence.
