also I am delighted to announce I have finally gotten a 2L reusable water bottle that isn't massively over-engineered or insulated or whatever. it's just a container that stores water and when the lid is on, won't spill.
#mine#i asked for a 2L bottle for christmas and got two big but not 2L ones#which is fine btu the one was just too small#the other was one of those insulated ones with a straw that you can only ever stand upright on a table or it'll spill everywhere#perfectly fine but not what i'm looking for#it was a thoughtful gift just left me still needing a basic bottle#i've been using old juice containers for a few years now#but can't wash them really so just have to buy juice often enough#the water bottle scene is bleak nowadays. i needed a new one for my backpack too#and it took i think at least five stores to find something serviceable#and even then it was insulated and a column shape so falls out of my backpack side pocket all the time#my old one had a narrower mouth so the elastic at the pocket would keep it in#i don't mind insulation too much it just makes the bottle huge and like that could be more water. i'd rather that.#anyway yay new bottle! it's perfect.#also it was $17 and not like $40. why are all of the overengineered ones $40. ridiculous.#this new one was from shoppers btw. if anyone else needs one.#personal
