Okay. There's obviously a tie from my character to Halo BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING STATIONED ON INFINITY!!! Thank you for your time.
((There’s a tie, but that doesn’t mean you’re a Halo Rp blog. That makes it a crossover, or canon bending. Halo, is a circle. A halo. No symbology, just coincidence. And RVB? Is and Oval. Without a little bending, they are not the same. Damn. Thing.))
[ If you’re having trouble discerning the differences between Halo, and Red Vs Blue, you seriously need to re-evaluate. Red Vs Blue is made /in/ Halo, but it has absolutely no connections to any Halo canon. ]
OoC: More like it's just made /using/ the Halo engine, not using any of the storyline or background. Just because they mention Master Chief in Season One, back when the whole thing was one big string of bad jokes after another, doesn't tie it into Halo canon, and it's clearly not.
[[ Okay, I got a grown man to use an iCarly gif, I’ll come back. This is obviously serious business. ]]
OoC: This will forever be my metric for how serious something is, I just need you to know that.

What's your preferred form of combat? Do you have a specific favored weapon?
"I actually score fairly high when it comes to marksmanship and sharpshooting, but it's never been my particular cup of tea."
Fred-104 shrugs with a faint smile, before gesturing to the two blades that are almost eternally present on his person.
"Close-quarters is my preference, by far, and for weapon, it's these two. Carbon steel coated in titanium carbide, always cleaned, always sharp and at the ready. They've saved me more times than I can count."
What're your feelings towards the Insurrectionists?
"What're my feelings towards the Insurrectionists?" Fred-104's voice is slightly pitched up in tone, as if he's not quite sure he's hearing what he's hearing. "I understand they feel they've been wronged, but that doesn't give them the right to hurt innocent civilians for the actions of their government. Terrorism can never be condoned, and that's all that these so-called 'freedom fighters' do."

How does it feel knowing that you're one of the only Spartan IIs left alive?
Fred-104's smile freezes for a moment, but remains on his face, albeit forced and tight.
"That's... a pretty invasive question there, isn't it?" The Spartan's fingers twitch unconsciously - no blade between them to spin out of habits born of years of holding everything locked down tight within. "How do you think it feels, knowing that I'm alive and so many of them are gone? How do you think it feels, knowing that I gave the order that caused the single highest number of Spartan-II casualties in any one engagement? I wouldn't know because I don't let myself stop moving long enough to think about it - I can't."
He sighs, looking away for a moment, as his forced smile fades.
"Maybe I'm afraid of what will happen if I do."
PSA: How To Call People By Rank
OoC: One tiny, tiny point of order for folks in the Halo fandom.
When referring to John-117 by his full rank: To his face: "Master Chief." Talking about him: "The Master Chief."
When referring to John-117 by the short-form of his rank: To his face: "Chief." Talking about him: "The Chief."
Basically, the only time you don't throw a the in front of someone's rank, full or short-form, is when you're talking to them face to face. Otherwise, they're the Master Chief, the Chief Petty Officer, because there's more than one of em out there.
Not aimed at you, Iamironpan - just something of a PSA for how to properly Navy for folks in general. Me and my years of service just slightly wince from time to time, haha.
Where have you been for the past 4 years?
"Aside from a little 'down time', we'll call it, a little after the end of the war, you mean? Serving in the field, mostly - with the rise of the Spartan-IV Program, I haven't been put into the uncomfortable position of PR and propaganda imagery as much as the Master Chief used to be.
"Been working on a few degrees on the side - have to, to keep the officer's commission Kurt gave to me. Adjusting to being around... people, trying to learn to be like them and to stop thinking of myself as the 'Other'. It's... been an interesting, but mundane four years."
(Why'd you choose to RP as Fred?)
OoC: Wow, a Mun-Question, huh? Didn't expect that.
Fred-104 is my favorite Spartan of the lot, actually - I identify with what we see of him quite a bit. Particularly with his tendency to be very... empathetic and his desire to stay out of the limelight despite being very good at what he does. I'm not a big fan of being the center of attention, and I generally try to avoid it whenever I can, but sometimes you have to step forward and take charge, take control and all the good and bad that comes with it.
I like his human side, really that's what it is. I think he's a testament to both how damaged the Spartan-IIs are, and to the fact that there's still hope for them being able to recover and rebuild themselves as people.
... The knife-fighter bad-ass archetype doesn't hurt too much either.
Where were you when Chief was fighting the Covenant on the Halo installations? Engaging the Covenant elsewhere?
"Well, for his first experience aboard one of the Halos, I was with the others, on the surface of Reach - above and below - trying my damndest to keep Doctor Halsey safe while keeping my remaining Spartans alive. Still haven't quite forgiven myself for that bailout order, despite knowing it was the only right one to give.
"His 'second' time, for lack of a better way to number it, fighting the Covenant on Earth, then on Onyx - though that was definitely where I can say I have to just shake my head and respect the Chief for being able to wrap his head around that Forerunner stuff seemingly so easily. A planet made of Sentinels... I was there and it's still difficult to grasp what I saw."

OoC: Mobile most of the morning doing pointless stuff when I'd rather be at my desk. If anyone so desires, Asks would be appreciated to try getting back into the character?
OoC: Resuming activity here shortly. I realize that I never mentioned here that the reason I've been so damn busy is that I started taking classes again to go along with New-Job-Position... So things have been falling through the cracks a bit. Sorry!
