Reflection Studio 1.
Yesterday was a nice way to end the first year of the Communication Design course. In reflection for this studio 1, I feel as though this was one of the most exciting subjects. Delving into sex, gender and diversity in the world of food was challenging though very rewarding once identified. Georgia’s approach was quite respectable and understanding of what road each group decided to go down. I was really pleased with our groups effort through the workshops to individual work, it showed our skills on individual levels to generally working in a group manner. This was one of the first assessments we had where we had to work in a grousp, this came at a cost at times with communication but willingly came together by the end. Group work is something that is innate in the world of design, so this first assessment was a nice insight.
In regards to the essentials program, I found to be the most challenging of all subjects due to wrapping my head around business again. I feel as though it is the most important element in any industry, understanding how to approach a client through written content can sometimes get you the job over design at times. I felt as though all teachers were approachable and efficient with the certain skill sets. I am looking forward to delving more into this side of design in the future.
