I totally understand the obsessive need to watch the episodes with it's silly songs and enactments of said songs.

Because I am one of them.

It's just more fun that way even though it adds nothing. Plus, it's hard to find organized episodes on youtube.

Honestly, I saw the show on Disney Hotstar, but without the ads.

*Cough* I also didn't pay for it *Cough*

Hopefully you know what I mean!

Basically, there are a lot of versions of the app that don't come with shitty ads and are one Google search away.

Apart from that , Ishqbaaz was my first serial and I have only started Ipkknd so I wouldn't know their similarities yet. But Gul Khan is quite popular for recycling her tropes in almost all her serials, like the darga scenes.

So, there are always enemies to lovers, most times bordering on bullying because the female leads are powerless and the male lead is an egoistic, narcissistic, and abusive CEO with anger issues.

Then, there's a slow burn, miscommunication, misunderstandings, forced weddings, and the beast-to-human-esque transformation of the male lead.

He gets praise for doing the bare minimum. The woman gets a feeble apology (if she is lucky!) for tolerating his bullshit and being mistreated for months and they live happily ever after.

It's like if one thing worked, Gul would take it and place it in the next show but amplify it to another degree. That's how the men in her show just keep getting toxic, sometimes to the point of no redemption. It's a ripple effect that started from Arnav.

Also, I don't know which episode is 262. Hotstar has sorted it into 13 seasons. But I would suggest sticking around till the Laal Ishq episode aka the episode they have sex in. I think it's in season 11.

According to me, the show truly hits its peak in season 5 with the whole amnesia saga. That's the most fun I had watching the show. After that, it starts losing substance but there are still some really wholesome moments to stick around for.

But I think it should've ended in season 11 right after the sex, when they were all sitting at the table, everyone was happy and it somewhere concluded their journey. If I were to watch it again, that's where I would've stopped.

But in the midst of this, I realized. If I had to watch the entire show like this, wouldn't it take out the fun from it?

I think it sucks that right after I started watching this show, Renovations started taking place in my house and currently, it's all so chaotic. I don't have my desk anymore. I tried to find the next best setting but couldn't find a place. There's only so much space left in the house to begin with.

I believe it would take a lot more days till this ordeal is over and I am wondering whether I should wait and get back to my daily schedule once I get my beloved table back or should I just watch the show anyway.

I know it's not that big of a deal! Like who cares? But then at the same time. I do. I really liked live blogging. And it helped me actively consume content instead of just mindlessly let it play in the background.

However, by this time, I would have already finshed that entire show if it wasn't for the live blogs.

What the fuck. I am hearing some really venoumous statements from the preview so I am going to skip and watch the actual episode.

Okay so, this was actually fun. I thought it might be a hassle but turns out I have a lot to say when watching these. And this post is still shorter than what I was actually thinking the whole time. So many comments that I skipped to not make the post extremely long.

Literally my mind while watching ITV.

So IPK seems like the right choice. But I just wanna know, if there are any other recommendations.

I guess it's too early to ask for that. Literally nobody is reading these blogs.

And that's kinda comforting. Like having my own place in a corner of internet, living anonymously but still getting my opinions known is great.

I think that's just a testament to how uninteresting my life has been. 🙄

But still, when I started that show, I never knew I had it in me to watch an indian T.V serial. I can remember how absurd I felt when I had put on the first episode, every scene, every dialogue, every slow motion made me cringe a little. I was always looking at it through the other side of the glass wall. i would burst into an embarrassed chuckle from time to time as if to mock myself for watching the show. why are you here? What has life done to you?

But then, slowly, the show coaxed me into the fantasy of it all. The characters that previously felt caricaturish, suddenly felt more like people to me and before I knew it, the glass wall dissappeared. I cared.

When the brothers hugged each other, I felt the familial bond. When Shivaay would look at Anika longer than he should, in the initial seasons, I felt a tug at my heart. I cared when Anika felt disheartened by the forced wedding. When they both were getting closer to each other (at the speed of sloths but closer nonetheless) after the disaster that their marriage was. When Om realised his mistakes and went to rectify them by getting Gauri back. I still eye rolled at Rudra's shitty jokes but only playfully. It all felt comforting. I would stay up at night to binge watch it's episodes, simply because I didn't wanted to think anymore. And as soon as I'd put on the show, the overwhelmness of life would fade away.

Oh my god! I can remember how I was losing my shit in that laal ishq episode. The colors, the song, the intimacy 🤌🏼

The way I was scandalized. It felt like I had earned it after the tedious work of getting through hundreds of episodes, I was being rewarded. No amount of graphic sex scenes could ever give me that dopaimine hit.

It was still just as absurd with the inconsistencies and absurdity and most plots not going anywhere. It still felt like a joke but this time I was in on the joke. And much appreciative of it.

i would love to live through it once again. To lose sleep over the fact that SHIVAAY JUST THREATENED TO KILL SAHIL TO MAKE ANIKA MARRY HIM?!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING IN THIS SHOW?

And then feverishly playing the next episode just to gauge the aftermath.

I guess it's been a long and at times exhausting journey. Maybe I should end it. What's the point of not watching it in fear of finishing the journey. All I am doing is holding myself back from having a closure.

And If I ever want more, there's always redux but I don't think I'd watch that.

But then at the same time, I never thought I'd watch Ishqbaaz.

i was thinking of doing live blogging of IPKKND. I found out a blog that did live blogging for Ishqbaaz and was quite interested in the concept. Might as well try it, right?

It's not like anyone would be reading them anyway.

I might just do it to keep tabs on what I thought of the show as I was watching it. It would be really fun to see my expectations meet reality. Like going back in time and reading what I predicted would happen with the characters and plots and how accuarate they were.

I am thinking of watching IPKKND next as I've already almost finished Ishqbaaz and want to see something new, A fresh Enemies to lovers and hot egoistic businessmen being arrogant as fuck only to swallow their words once they warm up to the middle class good girl.

So why not go for the OG.

Although I am a little worried about the quality because I am not used to the old 360p ass looking squarish aspect ratio.

I recently watched Ishqbaaz for the first time. Now, I am ashamed of ever assuming I was better than that and kinda proud that I finished 12 seasons in one month.

With all it's flaws, plot holes, cringe and shitty behavior displayed by it's men (sometimes bordering at illegal, who are we kidding? it's totally illeagal) , I think it's safe to say, it can be quite wholesome when it wants to be.

Is this the start of a new era?

Will Tellywood actually make it's place in my heart after I have so desperately rejected it all my teenage years?
