Now I don’t want to sound like I’m some butthurt person complaining, this issue has just been bothering me a lot lately and I feel the need to say something about it because, maybe someone else gets affected by it too.

“You’re my favourite ____ rper!” “You’re my favourite!” “You’re the best (musenamehere)!”

Yeah, sure, hearing such things is nice and it’s a good boost for whoever is getting the praise...but what about the people that see all those nice comments and are rping as the same muse? I know many people get quite insecure at times when there are multiples of their character around.

You see someone else getting called the best and they’re everyone’s favourite, doesn’t that kinda hurt? doesn’t it just suck to hear that you aren’t as good as them? mhmmm yep, it does. I’m sure there are some people out there that aren’t bothered by it but I bet there are more people that actually do get quite upset.

They might start wondering ‘whats the point in me rping this character if that other one is the ‘best’?’ and ‘well they’re the favourite, i’ll never get interactions, i should give up now’. 

Positive comments that just end up breeding negativity, and could end up (in an extreme case) causing someone to give up on rping a certain muse completely and delete their blog. It sucks.

If you’re thinking ‘well if they cant handle other people getting praise, maybe they shouldn’t be here’........ just B( @ you.

Anyway. I’m not saying you can’t have favourites or like other portrayals more than others, I certainly have some I prefer over others, I’m only saying that if you do have a favourite and want to praise them and tell them that they are the best/favourite, do it privately.

And instead of publicly saying ‘you’re the best ___ rper!’ maybe just say ‘you’re one of the best ___ rpers!’, that way any other rpers for that character that see that will still have hope.

They are given a sweet treat (or a piece of their favourite food, whatever would tempt them) and told that they can eat it now, but if they do, they won’t get anymore. They also get told that if they can wait quietly for 3 minutes, they can have another piece of the treat.

What would your muse do?

Eat the treat straight away Decide to wait so they can get an extra piece.

Honestly I just need to get this out there. Keep in mind this is my opinion and all and I’m trying not to sound like an ass but here we go.

It seems like saying your muse is canon divergent is the new trend, like its cooler to be one now so everyones saying it. But I don’t think people really get what it means?

To me anyway, canon divergent is pretty self explanatory, it means your muse has diverted from canon. Like there was a point in their story/arc and you’ve taken them in a different direction, for example, if your muse in canon was wavering being good and bad at some point but in canon stayed good, and then your muse didn’t and went bad, your muse would be canon divergent. Or if you decided to ignore a whole story arc or change a decision your canon muse made because you didn’t agree with it, you’d be canon divergent.

AU (Alternate Universe) muses are different too but can often be called canon divergent as well. Though to me, AU blogs are only canon divergent if the change relates to the canon story, like the good muse going bad, or if the muse lost a fight instead of winning it etc. AU muses are more to me like, ‘if muse A was blind since birth’ or ‘muse B never went to that certain place’.

Anyway, when I see someones blog and it says ‘canon divergent’ on it, I immediately get interested and go to have a look because I want to see the changes and new take on the character, and I’m usually disappointed.

BECAUSE, it seems like hardly anyone makes it clear how their muse is canon divergent. Are we supposed to guess? Go digging through pages of old posts?

If your muse is different in some way, please make it easy to find the information! Put it in the about page and/or rules. How can we rp if I don’t know how you play your muse? I dont want to annoy or upset you by getting something wrong about them.

Another thing is that people call their muse canon divergent when they’re not really, people are just throwing around the term ‘cause its cool or something or they dont know what it really means. Headcanons and ‘adding a lot’ to the muse, doesnt make them canon divergent, not to me anyway, because its not changing the canon really, its not taking the muse away from the canon plot. The headcanons are probably about the muses’ past, which is fine and good and all ‘cause most characters dont have a lot of past. But since they dont have a deep canon past, you’re not diverting the muse from canon, you’re just making your own (i make rp canon for a lot of my own muses too, since minor characters get nothing), unless the characters real past gets revealed and its different from your headcanons but you keep your stuff anyway, your muse isnt divergent.

Anyway, i think thats all my thoughts on it, sorry if it comes out bad but yeah, I’m tired of not knowing how someones muse is divergent, things need to be clearer and people need to stop saying a muse is divergent if they haven’t made a big change to canon. Having a lot of headcanons doesn’t usually mean the muse is divergent.

I will unfollow you if you reblog reposted art, especially if I’ve told you a few times it’s reposted. 

Reposted art always seems so obvious to me, here are a few ways I pick it out-

1. The quality of the image is poor (when things get reposted a lot and on several sites, it ends up looking grainy and bad)

2. The image/art is great but it doesn’t have many notes, meaning it’s probably a repost (yes i do understand that a lot of great artists dont get as noticed as they should)

3. There’s a watermark somewhere on it that doesnt match the url of the reposter.

4. The tags on the post are all like ‘kawaii, anime girl,’ etc. Fandom artists don’t tend to do that, reposters do because they want notes so they tag everything to put it in every single category.

5. The reposters blog description. Honestly ive seen reposted art and told the person who reblogged it that its a repost, and they’ve said ‘what?? how was i supposed to know?”. and i’ve pointed out that the blog description literally says ‘Credits to the artists!’ or ‘None of this art is mine <3′ 

6. Another tag thing is that artists usually tag their art as ‘my art’ or something like that or they say something in tags that indicates its theirs, like ‘omg this took forever for me to colour’ idk

7. The blog doesnt seem to fit the reposted art. This ones a little harder to explain since a lot of blogs do have a variety of things they post about. But I’m kinda talking about this time i was looking at a Lucy edit and went onto the blog that posted it and there was H.ENTAI AND P.ORN EVERYWHERE, my poor eyes. 

There are probably a few other things i cant think of right now (feel free to add some if you have any).
