Another moment of silence from Kenny. Man, bad dreams seemed to be something pretty frequent here, didn’t they? Perhaps it was the change of scenery and they were having some subconscious trouble adjusting to it. He forced a weary smile, laughing a little as he shook his head.
"Yeah, don’t worry. You know me Kyle, I’m always alright." As he said in his dream. His facade faded quickly, too stressed to keep a smile on his face. Eyes darting to the floor as he recalled the events, his mouth opened again. "I had a bad dream too, and… I don’t know, maybe I’m just being really lame." Not maybe. Definitely.
"But you seemed pretty upset. Asked me if I ever felt shitty for no reason, too." As Kenny shrugged, a sigh left his lips. He seemed a little edgy as he told the other about this, thinking of how ridiculous he must sound. "…Ugh. Normally I wouldn’t bother asking something like that because of a dream, but it didn’t sit well."
After checking his face in the mirror to assure all the marker was gone, he walked to his bed again, sitting down. His gaze traveled around the room for a little bit before resting back on Kyle. "I’m sorry, I’m kind of being a dumb ass getting worked up over dreams, aren’t I?"
The redhead's figure perked curiously towards Kenny at his odd behavior, green eyes narrowing with thoughts unspoken. There was something wrong--there was obviously something wrong. He stirred some more to move the blankets off his legs, then crossed them together.
"..." His face fell suddenly at the words, though only a little. Narrowed eyes widened and softened and his voice quietly spoke the single word it could muster, "Yeah."
Had he and Kenny had the same dream?
As his friend came to sit on his bed, the boy scooted closer to him, an odd expression over his features. "No, dude...no, it's..." his hand came up, gently hovering over Kenny's shoulder before its descent to settle there. It was pretty weird that they'd had that same experience and he'd like to ... talk about it...but the realization brought some other important matters he'd like to settle first.
"...Do you ever feel shitty, Kenny?" He inquired, gently. "Is there anything you want to talk about?"
