My character just accidentally said "I love you" to yours. How does yours react?

"…May I ask what the word altruistic means? I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before."

"ah it means selfless, kind, compassionate"

"Ah...I guess that does describe my occupation."

"It’s no problem. I get asked that a lot. I’m dressed like this because I feel comfortable in these clothes."

"ah, well good for you. how nice that must be."

"...Is something else the matter?"

i began by saying “yo” sarcastically, now it’s how i start half of my sentences 

"I know first hand how it feels to be accepted, so I wanted to help kids feel comfortable even if a lot of people won’t accept them. Those who don’t are just assholes who need to learn that people have control of their own body."

He continued nodding at Erin’s words. “Mmhmm exactly, some people seriously do need to realize just that. Honestly, it’s pretty easy to understand too but some people are just to narrow minded to accept it.”
