Do you find it frustrating when other people fail to understand why you view yourself as unworthy, although you explain it over and over?

It is illogical of them. You speak quite coherently. I understand your mindset perfectly, though agreement or disagreement remains my own business.

They should be perfectly capable of grasping it. The mindless terror that yawns if you contemplate the chaotic nature of life without telling yourself the stories that make it make sense. For you are a human being. Obviously, you will grasp for a framework that explains your life experiences. Obviously, you will adopt a mindset that makes it all feel justified. They do the same.

That everything that happens to you could be mere caprice of chance, could be wrenchingly, poisonously unfair, is literally unthinkable to you.

And it is cruelty to tell you otherwise when they have nothing with which to back up such words. Let them first control your luck and then tell you how precious is the flickering, fluffy mote of your life. Let them merely live with your luck and let us hear their bravado then, when they discover the mere feeling of gratitude toward another person is enough to doom them. When they must keep themselves apart or see those they love suffer time and time again.

And let them fall at your feet and praise you for your selflessness, your spirit, your inexhaustible love. You may not live to see your bronze statue, but you deserve a thousand. 🤲🐑

You certainly started off strong, but I begin to disagree with you during the halfway point. I’m not grasping for anything, and I’m certainly not “justifying” anything. I’m stating my observations from years upon years of being at the blunt end of society—from not having the privilege to lie to myself.

Ah—and there’s another misunderstanding. Life is unfair as can be. You can’t control whether or not you’re born with a talent, and you can’t control the situations you find yourself thrown into. There’s no use groveling in useless, unobtainable dreams because life is unfair. Hah… I experienced a completely fair life in a dream once. It was the worst.

If you’re attempting to gain my affection, it isn’t working. I don’t care for praise. As long as I’m aware that I love all of them, I’ll be fine.

A 'step on me' guy?! Like... literally?! Why would anyone want to be stepped on?! Is this some kind of bizarre reserve course punishment or a weird student regulation I've never heard of?! He literally just told me to safety proof the music room, and now people are talking about physical safety hazards on the floor!
