Here are some more doodles i did in school of a dds x trigun au that i may or may not try to flesh out in the future
Ramblings about my dds trigun au (couple of disclaimers the first being use details from qds 3-5 to justify some of my character picks and the second being i’ve only seen trigun 98 and that was a long time ago and i really want to rewatch it but my memory might be a bit hazy on certain smaller details)
I kind of went with character assignments based more so on their role in the story then the character’s personalities and such
Serph would be Vash, they’re both the protagonist and i feel like him and shin would be vash and knives, since they are kind of twins (serph was mostly built off of kei technically i think but it’s a little more nuanced then that), shin would be knives as he has a hatred for all the people around him in society because of how they treat him, like knives hated humanity and saw them as an obstacle towards the survival of the plant alien species they are or whatever, then serph would be vash who has a love for life and wants to save the planet with all of the humans like serph wants to be able to create a world for all of the embryon to live in peacefully
Also for all of the characters i tried to combo their designs with character’s designs from trigun and for serph it’s cool cause i tried to make his prothesis arm look like the half demon forms from dds 2 but i’m pretty sure the more i thought about it that vash also had prosthetic legs so i might have to go back and give him demon legs prosthetics
Heat would be wolfwood because they both kind of have a more on the fence thing going on, like technically wolfwood had worked for knives and was supposed to lead vash to him, but i think he eventually decided that he would continue to just travel with vash and the insurance girls instead (i’m kind of fuzzy on this though) and it reminds me of how heat works with the karma society and with shin (kind of) but he’s technically doing it to help the others in the embryon (in a crazy ass way), so i feel like heat would probably end up working for shin in this au and then since heat as a character values free will so much he would definitely defect or something at some point
For heat’s design i did leave the punisher in it’s original form because i love it and it’s such an iconic weapon design but i think for heat’s purposes it would launch grenades and have a flame shooter out one of the ends or something make it a little more him
I did not have as many reasons for pining argilla and jinana on meryl and milly i just think their position in the insurance company was so that they would be able to help people, and both argilla and jinana have strong moral codes and would want to help people too, as well as argilla and jinana both having staunch positions on not killing people, that they would want to join up with a gunslinger who actually never shoots or kills anyone willingly, i picked jinana as milly and argilla as meryl specifically though because i feel like argilla would be more focused and serious about their job, while jinana might take a more kinder or less serious approach kind of like she had an unconventional way of leading her tribe, and i feel like jinana would help argilla keep her head on her shoulders kind of like milly does for meryl
Jinana’s design was the trickiest for me because her and milly have absolutely opposite vibes of their outfit from like all the skin showing to like absolutely zero skin showing and i kind of tried to go down the middle and have her still have her armour on more like she has in in the junkyard, but she has it under a larger coat so it still gives milly as well
For argilla’s weapon, she also kind of has the same opposites problem where she uses a sniper rifle and meryl uses a lot of little guns but i feel like maybe in this au she would have a really big sniper rifle and maybe the smaller pistols would pop out and someone woud tell her to drop her weapon and argilla would and they would pop out on impact to the ground and argilla could sneak attack her opponent, like i think meryl pulls something similar in the show where she drops her pistols but she’s able to whip even more out from her jacket or something or maybe another character pulls off something like that i can’t quite remember
