Evening That Knows My Name

Sometimes I doubt.

Very often actually.

I doubt my decisions, I regret some things, I wonder what would have happened if I had chosen differently.

Sometimes I don’t know what will be next, and that scares me.

I am afraid to change things.

Afraid to start something new.

Afraid to lose what I already have.

But I still move forward.

I don’t always have a plan.

I don’t always feel strong.

Sometimes I just take the next step because standing still feels even more frightening.

And then life happens,

and I solve problems when they come,

not before.

This painting is about that moment —

when you stand alone in the field of your life, the sky is heavy, the wind is strong,

and you still stay there, looking forward.

Not because you are not scared,

but because you keep going anyway.
