the portrait of an artist confronting his trauma, his guilt and his failures. this was Lestat finally being forced to sit in the wreckage of himself.

The fog finally lifting on Gabriella's abuse. Finally understanding that he is loved by Louis. finding some agency. He's not healed. not redeemed. just a 250 year old vampire old enough to take off the armour and start accepting himself and acknowledging his mistakes. this season was the ultimate character study acted brilliantly by sam reid.

It’s canon these characters will do horrible evil things to each other -assault, abuse, manipulation, burn houses, throw off towers - and the other character will still love them, sympathise with them, forgive them.

They are all victims and also all abusers, monsters living for eternity trying to understand each other. I’m sure the same forgiveness will happen with Gabi next season.

Vs the possibility of having to wait another two years…
