Familiar Faces | Neil/Rachel
Oh boy, was he in for a rough night.
Only after much prodding and persuading did his friends (mostly his annoying roommate) finally get the blonde to attend prom. He’d never been to one, and he hadn’t had planned on attending one for his senior year, either, but lo and behold, here he was, flicking his eyes along the crowd in hopes of finding an unnoticeable exit. It wasn’t just the idea and atmosphere of the event, but the amount of people crowding the large ballroom was nearly too much for Neil to bear.
Adjusting his collar, he begrudgingly pushed his way past the horde of glittering dresses and clean cut suits to his oasis — the drink table, luckily set up near the back of the room. He breathed a sigh of relief once he pushed past the last swarm, gripping the edge of the clothed table as if it were a safety raft.
Carefully, Neil sashayed around the corner, focusing all too much on the bright punch that sat in the middle, eyes locked on the prize — until he forcefully bumped into someone, even having to balance on his heels to keep from falling. Immediately, the blonde whipped his head toward the offender, already starting his rude complaint. “Hey, you should watch where you’re—”
His ruby reds immediately widened once he recognized the girl he’d collided with, but something was different. She was a vision he hadn’t expected to see, her golden dress fitting her frame elegantly while her hair was lifted off her shoulders in a style he hadn’t seen before. She seemed to glow before him — angelic in all appearance. Finally, he regained his voice, running a hand through his thick locks as he cleared his throat, a light pink dusted across his cheeks.
"Uh — sorry. Guess I was too focused on what I was doing. It’s — Rachel, right?"
