Men who can’t cook, clean, or even do their own laundry are not “cute” and “in need of a woman to care for them”. They are spoiled brats so dependent on gender roles that they never bothered to learn the minimal skills to take care of themselves.

When you broke but you woke

This, a thousand fucking times this. Privilege is spouting and spreading pseudo-science bullshit you saw on your Facebook feed or on Twitter because unlike people in drought and famine prone areas of the world, you have the option to do just that. Those other parts of the world that don’t have the benefit of a food surplus and can’t pick and choose what they eat depend on GMOs to not die of starvation or watch their children waste away. I despise Monsanto as much as the next person and if they ever go out of business, I’ll be the first to dance a jig, but condemning GMOs just because one megacorp is a pile of shitbags is beyond idiotic. If scientists can create new strains of seeds that can withstand disease, pests, all while yielding more foodstuff, then we should be throwing our support behind them.

Scientists have added extra nutrients to calorie-rich, but nutrient-poor foods that can be grown in countries with limited agriculture. And yet oftentimes they are blocked from getting these GMOs to the countries that desperately need them because of ignorant arguments like this. So yes, pat yourself on the back for stopping a technology that can help prevent starvation because you don’t know how chemicals work.

Here is why I think Claudia deserved to win over Derrick.Claudia cooks what she knows best. I know, I know, you wanted to Derrick to win because he pushed himself and is experimental; and while that sometimes worked in his favour throughout the competition, the finale is all about presenting who you are as a cook. Experimental won’t cut it. Claudia did best in what she already knows and that helped her win over Derrick. Derrick has always been about presentation, but over and over again we have heard judges tell him that he tends to over-complicate his dishes. His dishes are experimental and visually stunning, and as viewers that is all we can ever see. It is after all, a cooking show and taste trumps plating. Moreover, Claudia knows how to tell a story with her cooking. Remember, they are serving three dishes, and those three dishes should complement each other. (In hindsight, this is why I think Elizabeth lost over Courtney). Also I don’t know why people are saying Claudia won because she has a sob story? If you’ve been watching this all season long, you might realize that she didn’t mention her being a single mom until the cooking for family challenge. She only got the ‘single mom’ edit when Shelly left And even then she doesn’t mention it as much as Derrick talking about how he wants to make his mother proud or whatever. Derrick has been given a story-arch throughout the season but none of you seem to be complaining about that. Notice too, how the other contestants favor Claudia over him; I’m not saying Derrick is a bad person, but the fact that some people talk smack about Claudia and her “annoying” personality grates me the wrong way. That is all.

I hate to jump on the SJW bandwagon, but I think racism has a lot to do with it. Shelley and Claudia got the most flack from viewers when pageant lady Jen from season 2 had food thrown in the trash and spit out, but she still won over the Latino guy. Js.
