        { ❄ } ❛❛ What, do I have to be fat to have any Christmas spirit?? I don’t think so!! ❜❜ It’s INDIGNANT, but soon his expression melts into a CONSPIRATORIAL smile, gaze darting around briefly before settling on hers again as he LEANS in to whisper. ❛❛ Don’t tell the children, but I stuff my suit. ❜❜

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Well, it certainly doesn’t sound like you have the Christmas spirit. That whole bah-humbug act is so lame — Christmas is the time to be happy!! What can I do to lift your spirits, huh?? Everyone deserves to have a great Christmas. ❜❜

        { ❄ } ❛❛ It’s a good thing for you, then, that I don’t let my parties get too crazy. Sure, there’s a bit of eggnog, maybe some wine, but I’m too old for crazy parties. It’s just good food, little bit of alcohol, strictly the good Christmas movies, and a bunch of good friends. Maybe sometimes we take a break and play Christmas music. ❜❜ So maybe his ‘Christmas Parties’ are mainly just movie nights — but he makes GREAT food.

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Now, you are just being dramatic, my dear Nick. ❜❜ Body shifts to lean BOTH elbows against the sleigh, chin resting in his hands as he GRINS at Nick, eyes widening JUST enough to give him signature puppy dog eyes. ❛❛ You don’t think this sounds fun at all, Nicky?? Dashing through the snow?? Laughing all the way?? ❜❜ The grin widens — maybe he’s playing up the whole santa bit, but he couldn’t resist the joke. That, && he REALLY wants to get Nick to get in with him.

          An AMUSED roll of his eyes follows the SETTLING of golden garland around his shoulders, lips upturning in a smile RADIATING warmth. ❛❛ I am so glad you’re so excited, my love, but when I asked you to help me find decorations for the party — ❜❜ He lifts the garland from around his shoulders, FLICKING his wrists so it goes over Nick’s head, settling on the other man’s shoulders instead. ❛❛ — I meant decorations for the house, not for me!! ❜❜ Amusement is reflected in his TONE as well, fingers curling in either end of the garland && TUGGING — an effort to pull his partner closer.

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Do what, every Christmas?? Throw the best, most amazing, most extravagant Christmas party in the whole city, invite everyone who seems fun and nice to it, and make sure everyone has to best Christmas of their lives, every year?? Because, uh, the answer is yes, OBVIOUSLY. I'm sort of, like, amazing. ❜❜ 

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Do not make fun of me, Reese!! ❜❜ Lips jut out in an exaggerated POUT, brown eyes turning up to give the other man a KICKED PUPPY look. Maybe he's laying it on a little THICK, but he's embarrassed, && he wants his friend to feel BAD for him. ❛❛ I just — I was trying to decorate the house, and I may have fallen off of my step ladder because of a spider and maybe I flailed a little bit on the way down and got all these lights tangled all around me. ❜❜ More pouting, REALLY trying to sell that kicked puppy look. ❛❛ Just — help me?? Please?? ❜❜

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Uh, well, y'know — the part about eggnog and wine sounds good — and there will be plenty at my Christmas party, and you should really come — but, uh, the — the part about the year's regrets is a bit of a bummer. ❜❜

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Which part isn't he supposed to say -- that her sad excuse for Christmas lights are a disgrace to the spirit of all thing Christmas, or that she should be ashamed of herself for ever trying to pass them off as Christmas lights?? Because either way, that display?? Yeesh. ❜❜

        { ❄ } ❛❛ Heard?? No — what is it?? What haven't I heard?? — Is someone throwing a better Christmas party than me?! ❜❜
