@kaaras-adaar
There was a knock at Kaaras' bedroom door, Shokrakar was already up. He always got up early in the morning, usually before the sun was even up. He slipped away from his sleeping lover and padded down the stairs, he peaked around the door to be given a letter from the messenger. Kaaras usually got a lot of mail, usually from interested nobles, some from his enemies too, and other just from people wanting to wish The Herald well. But this morning was different, this letter was for Shokrakar.
Shokrakar returned up the stairs and sat at Kaaras' desk, he used Kaaras' letter opened to open it and began to read, his frown getting deeper as his eyes followed the word, his stomach twisting a bit, shock or anger? Maybe bother. He bit into his lip and let out a frustrated sigh, glancing up at Kaaras' bed to see if he was awake yet. This was something they would need to talk about, not because it affected Kaaras, not personally anyway, but it was important to Shokrakar and he always shared important things with his Kadan.
Maybe he should go and get Kaaras a cup of tea first, yes. That was a good idea. He got up from the desk and slipped some trousers on, giving Kaaras a small kiss on the forehead before leaving to go and get some tea.
Shokrakar and his father stood still for a moment, just staring at each other. How long had it been since they'd seen each other, a year, more? Possibly, it had been a long time, too long. Shokrakar took a deep breath and walked toward the man he called Pa and wrapped his arms around him.
As the two got closer together, it became clear that apart from both having a beard, they didn't look a like at all. Shokrakar had bright eyes, his father's were darks, Shokrakar towered above him and was bound in large muscle, they looked more like friends than relatives. Shok's father held him tightly, patting him on the back before letting him go, the hug only lasted a second.
"What are you doing here?" Shokrakar asked.
"Forgot my schedule already? You know this is prime hunting time." The man asked with a chuckle, he had a couple of rabbits hanging from his hip. "What are you doing out here?"
"We, uh, Inquisition business...you know how it is." Shokrakar lied. "Strange that you're here, were you following us?"
"Of course I was, I noticed two men with horns riding a long the path with out anyone else and thought it was weird, then I saw it was you and I haven't seen you in so long, wanted to talk to you...but you looked deep in conversation so I didn't want to interrupt the two of you, then that damn stick go in my fucking way." It was clear where Shokrakar got his need to ramble from. Shokrakar's father looked past Shokrakar and directly at Kaaras. He knew Shokrakar was in a relationship from the letters he'd sent him. "Is this...?"
"Oh! Pa...this is Kaaras." Shokrakar turned and held his hand out to Kaaras. "Kaaras, this is my Pa, Kata."
Kata smiled at Kaaras. "It's a pleasure, Inquisitor, I've heard a lot about you...nice to put a face to the name."
