hi hi. i can give some advice, but know it's extremely specific to me and may not work for others !!

a good one is realizing that, despite your interests, it doesn't make you any worse of a person. this fandom is full of loving, kind, accepting people despite the media we create and consume. it doesn't "say anything about you" or have some kind of moral implication for liking dark or taboo media, it's just what you're into.

step two is keeping to your own little corner of the fandom. i would be lying if i said there wasn't a portion of this fandom that is fucking unbearable, so instead of reaching for a wider audience, (unless you're in the market for a product or creation to take off,) just collect your mooties as they come. your crowd will find you and it will be ultimately so much more fun than trying to be everyone's friend.

always have an age indicator in your bio. it doesn't have to be your exact age, it can simply be a "MDNI" or "18+", or even your birth year, but it has to be there 'else you look like a child/a good amount of people will block you on site. (i do that too! i want NO kids 'round these parts.)

realize the fandom you're in. people are gross and horny here, people will talk about things you don't wanna read and draw things you don't wanna see. that's life. it comes with the environment. don't nay someone's yay, everyone has different standards and it's important to respect that

the Gatoverse is made up primarily of self-insert media. all the games have you playing as an MC- so, basically, this fandom is built on OC's and self-inserts. it will never be cringe or embarrassing to make OC or self-insert content and make the canons act OOC with them and i always encourage y'all to do so. it's so much fun to play dolls with all the mooties. it doesn't matter if Strade wouldn't cradle my boy Shiloh to sleep, yes he would because I said so

avoid the proship/antiship argument. it's fucking stupid and only poses to rile people up. it's a battle of the moral superiorities, so just follow what you believe unapologetically and don't let dumb-shit pearl-clutchers make you feel bad about it.

approach every interaction with charitable interpretations. this community is full of people, including myself, who don't get much patience and understanding elsewhere and are most likely not trying to be little-shits or argue with anybody. if they say something kind of sideways, again, including myself, don't take it as an intentional jab or rudeness. a lot of people made a home here because they suffered some kind of trauma or just feel "too weird" for a normal audience, so please just be kind. just be patient. it costs nothing and it's the easiest way to make good friends. takes more muscles to frown !!!

that's all my biggest suggestions, now here's some smaller, less-important ones that i still feel like sharing U U

i would suggest having both a SFW and a NSFW account if you post multi-fandom on tumblr, or at least take good care not to mix the tags together. i'm sure i'm guilty of this here and there, it's not super important, but if you post a lot of like, my little pony or avatar: the last airbender or something and then get into the gatoverse, you'll want some kind of indicator that it's not child-safe media at the very least. or, if it's in reverse, i just wouldn't tag the child-safe media.

include your more controversial kinks in your bio or pinned post so people aren't blind-sighted by posts they're not prepared to see. i myself am really into fauxcest and eroguro, and i know others are pretty revolted by that, so i make it abundantly clear that, hey, i respect you, but this is my blog and i will be posting as i please. an unfollow or block isn't always personal, sometimes it's just people protecting themselves.

additional to that last point, it's also smart to put your boundaries in your pinned so people know what not to include you in. i can be a massive whore, i will consider very many things once, but what i won't accept is body fluids and irl gore. lots of people post that kinda stuff, so if i have it written, we will respect each other on that front. nobody can know unless you tell them!!!

additional additional point: respect goes both ways so please make sure to read and keep note of other peoples boundaries and go-tos.

for my finale, a legitimate suggestion is blocking that confessions account. "btdtpofconfessions." believe me. it's the fucking elephant graveyard of the fandom. all light that finds that account is snuffed out by kids on anon. it is a real, actual detriment to your mental health, i've seen it happen 5 separate times with 5 separate people. block the confessions account.

but it’s a super good game, rpg style and text based, you get to go around and collect love interests like Pokémon and you can have fem or masc!! What more can someone ask for :D but there’s a lot of different characters to choose from. And lots of effed up kinks !!! And I need someone to push the psuedo/fauxcest ideas onto /lh
