RIP to this spitfire
My mother: sassy, silly, and full of wisdom, died on July 14th after a bout with a sudden illness. She had been healthy, vivacious, and full of life up until she got ill mid-May with acute respiratory distress (not a smoker and exercised regularly). She was way too young to leave this Earth. I will forever be grateful for everything she taught me and vow to live a life that will make her proud.
I still have several drafts and a bunch of texts from her to share with all of my lovely followers. And despite her camera shy nature, I have many many photos of her...being her. And I can hear her yelling at me now “DON’T PUT THAT ON THE TUMBLR!!” Well, too bad, mom. Because they’re going on “the tumblr”.
Her wit will never die. Not as long as I’m breathing.
This photo sums up our entire relationship (and was one of the last holidays I got to spend with her).
You can see the exchange of:
Mom: “Don’t do the thing!”
Me: *does the thing anyway*
And...there’s vodka, too. With blueberries. Because blueberries make it healthy.
I’ll see you on the other side, mom.
