The similarities between takopi in the first timeline (marina's timeline), and child marina will always make me cry.
In the first timeline, takopi wasn't using his head a lot like he was with shizuka in the first timeline, because he wasn't in the position of saviour/guardian.
He was like a child, observing everything around him, he even said that marina treats him like how her mom treats her. He was truly innocent in it.
When he came back from his failed attempt to get azuma back and saw the place was in a mess. He didn't care about the fact that marina's mom is died, he didn't have any deep connection with her, and he really didn't understood what truly death and killing is.
Instead of understanding marina's emotions at the moment, he took the word she mumbled in a breakdown to heart and believed that "if shizuka kuze died in forth grade, marina will be happy", if this is what will make maria happy, I will do it, I want to be always to be in marina's side!!.
And he even hit his mom for the first time after returning from earth, he expressed violence to help the one he loves, and reflecting what he was subjected to.
Doesn't that behaviour really remind you of marina? very observing, she knows what shizuka is going through, she didn't have enough connections to care about her at all, she took what her limited mind thinks as her being with her mom's side and helping her (I'm sure her mom talked a lot of shit about shizuka and her mother at her breakdowns too). She reflects what she hears and goes through into others too (calling shizuka a parasite from her father, and being physically aggressive toward her from her mother).
Marina was introduced as the biggest evil in the manga (which turned out to be wrong), but the fact takopi, the symbol of positivity in the show, did express similar behaviour to marina, not even from subjected to the extreme verbal and physical violence that marina gone through, but mostly from getting exposed to it. He literally was subjected to worse pain in the second timeline, but why didn't he turn out to be like that? Because in the second timeline he was aware of the pain that it caused this time, what happened in episode one with shizuka made him open his eyes very wide. I would argue if he didn't go through that shock, he really wouldn't be who he's in the show now.
So how both takopi and marina became similar to eachother?
1) being clueless of how pain affects their selves
2) getting exposed or subjected to abuse
