While I agree with the headcanon that Peter is weird about receiving gifts, having grown up poor and constantly worried about affording stuff, he can’t help but think of how much everything costs (same as with money, obviously— it’s both embarrassing and weird receiving any he hasn’t earned.) I have a soft spot for the headcanon that, because gift-giving is such a luxury in the Parker household, on the occasions that he does receive any he close to combusts from happiness. It doesn’t matter how much the gift cost, bought or handmade— he treasures every single one. I imagine him extremely expressive and animated as he unboxes them, thanking the person who gifted him profoundly. I especially love the idea that because of this, Tony finds ridiculous reasons to give him stuff. He’d make a list of international days to celebrate just to find an excuse to buy Peter something.
