I love when costars have a great relationship offscreen, when you can tell there is genuine affection, respect, support and care between them. It's a bond that has grown and lasted over the years and I love it so much!

This friendship is so precious and beautiful and I feel honored and warm and lovely every time we get a little peek into it ❤️

I think this is my favourite Sam and Jack hug.

Despite the heartbreaking circumstances that lead to it, there is something so intimate and beautiful about it that makes it not only my favourite hug but also one of my all time favourite Sam and Jack scenes.

Sam is feeling so many different and conflicting emotions, deep grief and shock over losing Janet but also immense relief that Jack is okay, that he's still alive and with her, when it could easily have turned out so differently. She is dealing with a lot but Jack is a safe place, she knows he won't judge her, he won't tell her to pull herself together or try and insinuate she's somehow weak for showing emotion, he's just going to be there for her, like he always is.

It's at times like this, times of high emotion or danger, when keeping their true feelings under wraps becomes a little harder, but I love how neither one of them holds back, they both need this and while in relative privacy, they are able to just be Sam and Jack for a moment.

The little 'come here' from Jack (it always gets me when he says that to her!) and the way Sam closes her eyes as Jack dips his head into her neck is so intimate, he just wants to take her pain away but he knows he can't and I think he needs this hug just as much as she does. I also think it's here when the reality of what has happened, and what could have happened, really starts to hit them. I just know that they stayed this way for a while, neither wanting to let go.

It's moments like this that really cement Sam and Jack as one of the best ships, their chemistry is, as always, incredible and it speaks to the talent and bond that RDA and AT have that they can convey a huge amount in scenes like this without really saying a lot, or anything at all in some cases. Some of their best moments have been when neither of them utter a word, they are just that good.
