Light doesnβt know how to properly please a woman - itβs a good thing L does.
βHave you ever had a girlfriend?β Misaβs voice was innocent, appropriately tuned for casual conversation. There was no underlying implication beneath her words. If there was, L was just making it up. Surely she hadnβt meant for there to be.
βUhm,β He composed himself, displeased to be caught off guard. βThatβs a rather personal question, donβt you think?β
Misa giggled beside him, one hand reaching up to mask the gentle curve of her lips. βI wonβt tell anyone if you havenβt.β
βWhy does Misa want to know?β L found himself asking, finally letting his gaze meet hers.
She sighed, leaning back on her hands, ear pressed into her shoulder as her head lolled to the side. βDunno,β she shrugged. βI just wanted to ask. Even if you wonβt tell me, I think I know the answer.β

He unclenched his jaw, a sigh escaping him. βIf it would please Miss Amane to knowβ¦ then the answer is no. I havenβt.β
She giggled again, soft and unrestrained, windchimes on a summerβs day. L watched, entranced, as she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her hands were so small, her fingers so delicate. He wondered what they felt like. What they might look like, wrapped around hisβ
βI know,β She admitted, a playful lilt to her voice. βI can tell.β
He should tell her to leave.
βHow so?β
She should go to bed.
βBecause you look like you've never seen a girl in a nightgown before.β Her eyes strayed down to his cheeks. "And you're blushing."
L stilled, his spine locking into place. She knew, then. She knew, and she stayed.
