❛  hinakawa  -  san,  ❜  asserts  mika,  assuming  the  brusque  tone  she  uses  with  the  enforcers.  she  lingers  over  his  computer  desk  and  suspends  a  tentative  hand  over  his  shoulder  before  retracting  it  to  her  side.  she  shouldn’t  be  this  casual,  not  in  front  of  inspector  tsunemori  and  the  others.  but  recently  she  has  taken  an  almost  familial  liking  to  sho,  and  she  finds  herself  wanting  to  spend  more  time  with  him  outside  of  a  strictly  professional  setting.  it  is  not  too  likely  they  will  get  a  free moment  like  this  again,  so  she  knows  that  she  should  take  the  opportunity  now.  ❛  stop  working  for  now  and  come  with  me.   and  that’s  an  order  !  ❜

                    the  rhythmic  clicking  of  fingers  against  the  keyboard  ceases  as  he  becomes  aware  of  her  presence  behind  him.  in  the  not  so  distant  past,  he  probably  would  have  tensed,  expecting  some  form  of  verbal  reprimand,  but  the  edge  that  her  voice  once  held  when  speaking  to  the  enforcers  has  softened  considerably  over  time.  it’s  been  a  gradual  change,  but  he’s  been  there  for  all  of  it,  silently  noting  the  shift  in  her  demeanor.  “  y - yes,  inspector.  “  he  nods  in  acknowledgement,  slowly  rising  from  his  seat.  it’s  been  a  relatively  quiet  day  with  no  noted  spikes  in  the  crime  coefficients  of  the  public,  so  he  wonders  what  she  could  need  him  for.  “  did  something  happen ... ?  “
