small au but like what if in the BE route edelgard actually found byleth’s body at the bottom of the cavern (?) she fell into and since in this au byleth actually dies for the five years, edelgard brings her back to the hresvelg family mausoleum bc a normal grave wouldn’t suffice for “someone as noble as her” (ur gay is showing edelgard). anyways, cut to five years down the line and byleth wakes up, confused as hell in the dark, and manages to push the heavy stone lid off the coffin despite her unused muscles and the crick in her neck. queue shenanigans as she walks around the castle looking for some food and water, not bothering to hide from the people in the hall as they stand in shock at the sight of a woman who was very clearly dead an hour ago wandering through the halls
