-Deep within Lumen, and in the safety of her apartment, Makina could shed her rough exterior, and relax her guard.  Strangely, she had nodded off, reliving a dream and her biggest regret.  It ate away at her very soul, and fueled her sorrow, which in turn was converted to hatred within the battlefield.  It was only until she felt something wet touch her that Makina woke with a start, bewildered as much as angry with herself.  Though the anger subsided with the realization.-

Tears...?

-Funny, she thought her tears had run dry long ago.  What could've brought on this emotional outburst?  No sooner did she begin pondering this, that she thought she heard a sound outside her apartment door.  Wiping her face hurriedly, all recollections of that moment of weakness was shoved deep into her core, as Makina's face deadpanned, her right hand already reaching for a MAC-11.  She wasn't expecting any social calls, and this was not a particularly good time for her to be disrupted.  Patiently she waited, her left hand upon the doorknob.  Then the door was flung open, the firearm pointed through the opening it had created.-
