what i personally love about luo li's arc is that it highlights an aspect of modern feminism that often flies under the radar. that people can say and believe in the quote unquote "strong, independent woman" who is equal to her male peers, but unconsciously, this woman can only be equal to her male peers if she's not feminine: if she's emotionally repressed, not cute, and isnt interested in any "girly" hobbies or aesthetics— essentially, if she's like a man. luo li and wang nuonuo tells us that cute girls can be strong and smart and capable. that we shouldnt have to change ourselves to fit into society's narrow standards for what a woman should be if she wants to stand on even footing with her peers.
