I live by one guiding principle: I must take care of myself first so that I can take of others. This intention has served me well. I understand how some struggle with this for many reasons. I ask folks all the time - "How can you be anything to anyone if you're not that thing to yourself first?" Intentional living takes work then eventually it gets easier and more meaningful. Now I can intentionally be good to others with more ease because I'm good to myself emotionally, physically, spiritually and intellectually. I can intentionally love others freely as well because I love myself. All this good living ain't perfect and it wears me out. I'm enjoying a much needed break.
