We didn't have enough time so we couldn't keep our room. It's blazing hot right now and I'm overstimulated from the heat. I'm trying my best to stay cool but I'm very heat sensitive. I got some water at least, I'm at a park. I'm sweating through my clothes and it's hard to breathe, I'll see later if I could sit somewhere that's cool. Dragging our suitcases gave me an asthma attack 😭 that and we will have a thunderstorm tomorrow....great.

I may or may not be in the process of getting hacked. Someone kindly reached out to me to let me know I dm'd a suspicious link and my account (rightfully so) was reported to @staff. I'm still waiting to find out if I'm actually going to get suspended, but I wanted to warn all of you.

I have reason to believe this whole thing was a scam. Seeing as it's past the supposed deadline for tumblr to ban me and I'm uhhhh still here lmao

So for sake of clarity and awareness, here's what happened.

I gained a new follower. Super cool thing! Yippee. I was immediately dm'd by this follower:

Notice my "username" at the top. Obviously, not my username with that -ALT tacked on at the end. The chat box overall is missing the Settings wheel at the bottom. It's not far out to think this might be a fake screencap, but let's continue.

Sounds scary! This poor person lost money and "almost lost their account" because of a link I had supposedly sent from this account that's not me. Of course, reporting an account like this for phishing is the right thing to do.

Now, this is where I was getting more skeptical. If I was under such drastic threat to be Banned From Tumblr Dot Com, wouldn't I have also gotten this email to warn me? Seems like I would have if I only had 12 hours to appeal. Spoiler Alert: I never got the email. The 12 hours have obviously passed and I'm still kickin'.

But wait! There's more!

This part just didn't even make any sense to me, but they were asking for my friends' info, as well. That's a no.

There was a continued emphasis to contact the name at the end of the email on discord, which is Always a major flag for scams. Staff on any legit website will only communicate with you through the site, itself, email and/or any other communications You choose to use, if given that option.

Even after saying that I was waiting for The Email and wanted to cross reference it with other communications from @staff, that didn't satisfy our "follower" here. I continued getting messages telling me to message this person on discord and source: trust me bro about the legitimacy of this claim.

Tumblr, itself, even flagged this as sus

If you get mentioned under ANY blog that says they're Tumblr staff. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!!!

Recently, you cannot access Gooseworx's blog anymore, and people thought she deactivated her Tumblr. However, she was actually banned. When someone deactivates their main blog, a string of numbers and letters is attached to their username: "-deactivated[year][month][day]"

When you look at posts made by Gooseworx, there's no "deactivated" and no numbers

Some speculate that this might have been a sideblog, since there's no "deactivated" string if you delete a sideblog, but it was her main blog. You can't use sideblogs to like posts. If you search "Gooseworx liked this" on google, you will find proof ithat she liked multiple Tumblr posts.

He has decided to deal with this by 1) making a show of nobly resigning from parliament and then 2) immediately running in the resulting by-election

He has stated that he is letting 'the people' judge his actions and implied that if he wins that will prove that he has been exonerated in the court of public opinion

His goal was presumably to get a big resounding win over the other parties, proving that The People still love him.

the other parties have thus far decided that this is a 'vanity election' and, well, there is one very easy way to ensure that he will not beat any of them, and that is simply not to play.

and as a result the only person who has so far confirmed they are running against him is Count Binface. no matter the outcome this makes Nigel Farage look like, u know, a fucking clown.
