Eyebrows mildly furrowing in reaction to her teasing , to suddenly his attention collecting towards her extending hand . Swiftly catching her hand with his own , Knight provides a gentle shake in return , a charming as ever grin forming to cover his previous confusion . “ Ah , Michael Knight . Pretty sure I’ve heard of you before , but ! It’s nice to meet you , Viv . ”
Soon releasing their friendly handshake , the bartender approaches with the utmost urgency to assist with drinks , to which leads Michael to hum in thought of what to order , “ Hrmm, ” Decisions , decisions . “ Let’s see , I will have a Whiskey Sour , please and thanks — Oh , order whatever you’d like , yeah ? ” The male warmly replies , playfully gesturing to the bar while looking back towards Vivienne .
“ it’ll be an old fashioned for me, love, ” vivienne flashes a smile from michael to the bartender, and she adds a quiet ‘ thanks ’ after a moment. it all feels ... normal. it feels like being home and having normal conversations with semi normal people, having a normal drink at a normal bar. and upon further ( and rather short ) reflection, vivienne completely eases. hands reach back and she’s pulling elvira-tresses into a messy ponytail, fingertips then begin to pick loose strands from her bangs. “ so what’s your deal, michael knight ? ” very poorly phrased, but her tone ensures this isn’t of suspicion or even insult. chin rests in her palm, attention pulled to her new friend. they’ve been acquainted for a solid minute, but, yeah, vivienne will definitely be referring to him as her old friend from now on. “ do you always come to bars and act all handsome and offer drinks to pretty girls who look like they’ve been hit by a truck ? or is this a one time kind of thing ? ”

“Mene ny vittuun siitä. Ai saatana.” He mutters under his breath as her tirade seems to go on, and on, and on. Finally, when she’s done, Alex speaks, economical with his words as always. “You talk a lot. Are you done?” Alex knows Viv is trying to get him all riled up so that they can have an argument, but he refuses to be drawn— as much as he would love to quarrel, he’s not going to give her that satisfaction.
“If you are so concern for Marlboro, you can go tell them yourself that I said they can go fuck themselves.” Besides, Marlboro’s contract is with his team, not with him. Alex knows better than to go badmouthing his own personal sponsors— he’s not going to walk around saying fuck Neste, or whatever. “Maybe if you don’t want me call you stupid, you should learn a few things about the sport before you talk to me next time.” He can’t resist adding, as he folds his arms over his chest.
it seems that the contract has turned more into a babysitting gig. when children have tantrums, you just have to let them ride it out. so that’s what vivienne does she lets him grumble and sling insults. at some point she just tunes it out. eyebrows raise a fraction, a kind of smirk on her face as she watches him pout, and with each drag she exhales those bits of true rage that was bubbling inside of her. counting back from ten doesn’t work much these days. and even after he’s done, vivienne stays silent, as if she’s at odds with the one half who wants to strangle him. she could do it. she could strangle the lights out of him and walk away unscathed, but she won’t. she has a responsibility, a job, and she’s going to finish it. she wonders if the unholy one is looking up and watching this like it’s ‘ love island, ’ or if he’s just waiting for the moment that vivienne pries herself out of this. after a long silent pause, she exhales and says “ look. are you going to stand here and think of different ways to call me an idiot, or are you going to come inside and have some fucking tea and calm down ? ”

it’s sitting in a little cardboard box in the street, tail in its mouth and glowing white eyes watching the occasional car drive by. there’s a big hand-written sign next to it that reads; ‘needs new home. WARNING! EATS EVERYTHING.’ with the two last words underlined. whoever had left it there clearly had tried taking care of it, but quickly discovered that having a parasitic shapeshifting alien as a pet was a challenging task for sure!
the snarling of a dog, the baring of teeth, and somehow, vivienne is unphased bucket warns of a threat, he’s telling her to stop and asking to investigate, but she just pets him between the ears and ignores his advice. he wines in defeat, but she chirps an excited “ what’s this ? ” curious blue eyes peer into the box, meeting glowing white ones. it’s that disney princess moment, but instead of some baby deer it’s ... this. “ oh, you poor little thing ! ” this produces a jealous grunt from the dog hanging back. a gentle hand reaches in, careful not to startle it vivienne is truly unaware if this is a kind of nervous stray puppy sort of deal, and if this particular creature is the type to sniff around, but hey ! it’s the thought that counts. “ do you wanna come home with me ? yeah ? i got a whole place you can run around and all kinds of treats and snacks and a whole garden you can make your home. how does that sound, little dude ? ”

“ hey, hey ! chill out, alright ? ” vivienne punctuates this with one long drink from a crystal glass. elbow leans against the bar, eyes scanning the suite for some kind of solution as if the answers are in the pink curtains or vintage green carpets. one more drink. something to give her courage to handle this. “ no one’s coming for you. and if they are, i’m here. i wouldn’t let anything happen to you. so let’s just all ... calm down, have a drink, and let the snow melt. ”

“ sounds like you’re having a rough time ... here, ” no hesitation fingertips fish a pack from the inside of her jacket. it flips open, and she’s offering one, along with a zippo. a bible scripture is etched into it, something about a pale horse or whatever, stolen directly from her father’s stash in her childhood. it feels awkward and maybe a little ironic : ‘ should i offer a light or summon the flames of hell ’ is store-bought alright ? ’ what a dilemma. “ help yourself, kid. ”
