Sometimes you have a particular case, or patient scenario, that just gets under your skin. It stays there. It causes you to dwell on the situation and lingers. You can’t sleep as well, because you think about it and cannot fully relax.

Sometimes it’s a simple thing as empathizing with their health - someone now has terminal cancer, their loved one is now dead, they now have an incurable or debilitating disease, etc - and you just feel so BAD for them. You met them, spoke to them and their family, cared for them and now…well.

Sometimes you berate yourself, think that there was more you could have done. There isn’t, really. But you think it just the same. It gets hard to care with your all for every patient, sometimes. Because it takes a little piece from you each time the outcome isn’t a good one.

So sometimes, like today, I end up sitting on my bed when I get home staring at my hands.

Gonna jump on the ‘hey guys did you know my girlfriend and I are Homestuck trash’ bandwagon.  I met a bunch of great people directly and indirectly through Homestuck - everything from painting pumpkins together for Halloween to dropping spaghetti all over the place the first time someone commented on my Heir of Breath shirt.  You know who you are.  Good times.

I am both relieved and sad that it’s finally over (potential epilogue shenanigans aside).  Might be time to finally start that re-read.
