Online interview with Vocalist Carly Tappan
Her journey continues and just reviews would like to share it with you
Just reviews: Carly how long have you been writing songs and what is your inspiration for them
Carly: I have been writing my own music for the past few years now.. writing for me is my therapy. Being able to have the opportunity to take my emotions and feelings and turn them into a song that others can relate to is my bread and butter. I want my lyrics to reach others who feel the same way but don’t know how to express it for themselves.
Just reviews:, what was the inspiration for writing Destiny your new song?
Carly: my inspiration for Destiny, was me talking to myself and reminding myself to never give up. When you want something so badly you’re going to go through rollercoasters of emotions and let downs but if you really want that dream, you have to work against all odds and keep pushing until you’re exactly where you want to be.
What messages do you want everyone to take away after hearing this song:
Carly: never give up on something you love. you can’t fail if you try but if you don’t try you’ll never know what could’ve been.
Just reviews: what is your process for deciding the songs you write? Is there a theme that is in all of theme? What sire the messages in the songs ?
Carly: my producer will show me beats and if I like them and see that they fit my style and vocals I will say “yes” I will then find the melody of my song and hum to the best to find that melody and record it and then go back and listen and plug it in with lyrics. It’s a very time consuming thing especially when you’re always your biggest critic. You think “no scratch that, I can do this better”. It becomes a cycle for each verse and takes a little longer.
Just reviews: how would you define Destiny? Why can everyone realize that they can move ahead and never give up till they find their Destiny after hearing this song;
Carly: that is definitely my message for destiny but I also can’t say “you will reach that goal”. It takes a lot of perseverance, motivation, and dedication. Now if you have that passion for what you love absolutely! But you have to be willing to go through all the ups and downs until you find your place. There has been so many times in this industry where I have been let down and it can become extremely overwhelming. I’m still not where I would like to be and I’ve been pursing music seriously now for 7 years now. You have to work work work and when your time is here it will not just be here but it will SHINE.
Just reviews:, what can your songs do to inspire people to never give up
Carly: give my following base that push and motivation to just do the thing!! Any dreams are possible if you put in the dedication and love what you do. I want my song to inspire others to get up and show the world what talent you have. This world is competitive and we need more authentic people to come up to the plate with confidence and know you can do it.
Just reviews:What are some new songs you are writing ;
Carly: I have a few new songs in the works! I am going pop/country so my next one may be a pop single!! I am extremely excited and can’t wait to share these songs with the world.
Just reviews: what else would you like to share about your journey and your work?
Carly: I have been happy, sad, overwhelmed, let down, and so much more. The industry I am in is very cut throat and so many people pursing the same thing so it can get rocky. I love music and I love being able to write music where listeners can relate and be like “wow I’m not alone”. That’s what I’m doing and trying to put out there. It’s been a crazy ride and journey but it is only getting better. Believing in yourself can take you a long way.

Carly: my parents are my inspiration. They have worked so hard and sacrificed so much for me. My mom is my #1 fan and I’m talking would wear a hat with my face on it everyday for the rest of her life if I let her!! It’s really nice and important to be there and support the people you love. My family has given me every reason to believe in myself and believe I will get there.
Just reviews: what is next for you and what do you hope will help you rise to the top?
Carly: next for me is just releasing more and more music. As for rising to the top I just hope the right opportunity comes knocking in my door soon and I will be ready to have my shot and show the world what I am capable of. It takes one song to take off and be heard and I believe when the time is right it will happen for me.
