Why do they tell us 'big girls don't cry' Did you ever stop to wonder... Why? don't big girls cry? Is it to keep us in place at the want of a try? To cry is to show emotion Heaven forbid, We will get deemed hysterical, or a psychotic bitch So we hide our tears, hide behind our walls Show the world we are strong, can't be broken, stand tall Act like a man! It's such a sad sight, for we were deemed women, our emotions are our light So say I cry I front of you today, does that make me weaker, would that make me 'gay'? NO! It makes me stronger, that's what you don't get If I shed one tear, that's one fear I forget I used to believe I had to keep it inside, keeps my thoughts/feelings hidden, reside in the hide Now that I'm grown, I see through different eyes My emotions unnerve you, because yours are still tied We come up with these saying like 'big girls don't cry', for if I cry from my eyes in your sight... You'll see true strength, no lies So go on and create these comforting lines, that disguise your true fears and make a fool out of mine
