Patti and Molly are more like sisters than mother and daughter. Patti has had her horse Indie for years, but their recent move to the country, and the addition of a horse for Molly, has forged their friendship even more. As Molly is moving towards adulthood and a life away from home, so I was so happy to capture this beautiful time in their lives before it becomes a memory. I spent Thursday and Friday last week in Arizona doing a Library Building shoot for @farnamhorse ⠀ ⠀ As predawn light began to fill the horizon on Friday morning with hues of pink and peach, I sped up my little rental car, hoping to get to my location before the color faded away. ⠀ ⠀ When I arrived, Kim was already up and working her first horse of the day. I asked if we could go out the arena on the easternmost part of her property to try and get some sunrise photos.⠀ ⠀ By the time we got there, the sky had turned grey. I was bummed we missed all that color, but I know how moody the sky can be. Which is your favorite??⠀ ⠀ Woke up to air temps of -25. I had my horses in their stalls last night, and their body heat kept it above zero in the barn. As soon as I put them outside, frost formed on their eyelashes, noses and cheeks!
