Oh girl… in all honesty you’re probably going to wish you hadn’t asked but the very real life and a bit rambly version of how things are is here.

In happier news tho I am doing better now than I was when I wrote that, though things are still quite hard. I’m leaning into accepting my situation and the opportunities a change can bring, whilst practicing just being a bit kinder to myself about it all 🙈 It’s day by day but I’m doing my best and me and Mr A are figuring it out together.

I’m also trying to do a lot more reading of real actual books and if anyone wants a rec, I’ve just finished a brilliant book called Butter by Asako Yuzuki.

thanks for the rec! i'll add it to my tbr in books written by east asian women. they suffer a particular form of mysogyny and is important to me to hear their stories (and by the synopsis it seems this is one of the subjects the book tackles). can i give another rec in return? i'm also on the journey to start reading again and i've started with ursula k. le guin with 'a wizard of earthsea'. it's fantasy (and i don't know if you like the genre 😅) but not heavy in themes like george martin or joe abercombrie. in fact it's a short book and has an exposition style that would rub me the wrong way if it weren't for the fact that i'm reading it on the bus (the only place and time i have to read 😂).
