I can’t believe I forgot about one of the BEST IBD friendly foods: Applesauce.

It’s finally turned to fall in the Pacific Northwest - my absolute favourite season of the year. The leaves turn a gorgeous red colour, it’s crisp out and the rains haven’t turned everything to mush…yet.

I’m all about comfort food and my Grams used to make me all sorts of digestive treats - applesauce included. I’ve never made it so when I stumbled across this slow cooker recipe, I had to give it a try.

The result? Cinnamony, sweet (with no added sugar), rich goodness. Nothing like the beige store bought blandness. I used mostly Braeburns and a couple of Macs. I’m looking forward to testing out different combinations to see which flavour I like best.
