Heard SavageRealm was pointing middle fingers at him, but I didn't expect he'd point one back from the stage. Adorable. Man's just up there having fun.

The Baudelaire Orphans are adopted by the Addams Family, because apparently the only legal requirement to be an Addams is to want to be an Addams, and Morticia and Gomez are always grocery shopping for new family members.

Obviously, Count Olaf arrives shortly thereafter in some ridiculous disguise, as is his wont. The Addams, perhaps contrary to what most may think, do NOT kill him. In fact, they're enraptured by him. They invite him over for midnight tea, they have long and boisterous conversations, they marvel at his shoddy performances. Anyone would think that they were good friends...

BUT. That's only because they're slowly working up the Baudelaires' courage and confidence to kill him themselves.

The Addams would never deprive someone of a well earned kill-- especially not one as big as this! Depending on when this all takes place, and how much of canon we're willing to rewrite, they either haven't had their first kill, or their first was such a miserable experience that an Addams would say it didn't count and try for a re-do.

Like lions training their cubs to hunt, they keep the victim close without ever hurting him themselves. Meanwhile, Morticia is teaching Sunny about herbs and spices and poisons, recipes and all the ways one can cook fresh meat, as well as the inevitable clean-up.

Wednesday and Pugsley end up really looking up to Violet, and with her help all three of them learn alongside each other all about the horrible, deadly reaches of invention and imagination.

Gomez quickly takes Klaus under his wing, appreciating his love of literature, and taking it upon himself to help Klaus break out of his shell and expand his comfort zone. An anatomy lesson becomes an impromptu fencing match, with Gomez gleefully teaching Klaus all about the best places to hit a person without killing them, and dreaming up glorious new final blows, while either breaking into Shakespearean solliloquies or practicing their own.

The biggest setbacks are Wednesday and Fester. Wednesday is too justice-oriented and caring (in her own way) to let anyone hurt her family, and so would harbor a homicidal vendetta against Olaf, which she very frequently acts upon. Gomez and Morticia eventually do have to sit her down and have a serious discussion about when it's not appropriate to brutally gut such a terrible man, and that if she tries again she will be grounded-- two whole weeks without anesthesia-less vivisections. Wednesday grumbles, but understands. They never said anything about maiming him, though.

And Fester is Fester. He smuggles him a nightshade spirit from the Old Country one night, and Gomez has to down the whole bottle himself to keep Olaf from getting poisoned before his time. What a hangover!

Of the three siblings, the fastest to acclimate is Sunny, and explaining myself would be redundant, a phrase which here means "I mean duh, obviously, get with it". Violet, of course, has Wednesday and Pugsley to support her during the transition, but Klaus oftentimes feels like like the odd one out. His siblings aren't available as often anymore, and the Addams themselves are often a bit overwhelming for him, so he feels like an outcast in this new home. However, it's nothing that a classic pep talk from Cousin Itt can't fix, and their bond helps Klaus past those new family jitters! Obviously, Klaus develops a dictionary of Itt's language.
