This was the first time Sirhan has ever encountered another Wolf Avatar; much less since he's pretty sure he didn't pass down his power to anyone else. Or at least, he thought so. But as he stands across the street with 'cars' passing in his full tribal gear, ignoring the other human's looking at him, he sees the woman look up suddenly and stare at him. He's sure she has seen his divine form before he starts walking across the street...on a red light.

cords  hung  loosely  between  her  ears,   something  to  ease  the  tension  from  being  around  so  many  people  at  once,   to  keep  her  senses  from  being  overwhelmed.   everything  was  getting  easier  as  they  had  been  for  months,   though  new  forms  of  overwhelming  sensations  made  it  feel  as  if  she  were  starting  at  step  one.   she  had  been  doing  well   !   until  a  new  scent  washed  over  her,   hairs  on  the  back  of  her  neck  stood  up  as  dilated  pupils  gazed  up  at  someone   —   someone  she  was  unfamiliar  with  but  held  a  stance  with  pride.   despite  looking  as  if  he  freshly  stepped  out  of  a  LARPing  session.   gaze  connected,   a  link  forming  there  until  he  took  another  step  towards  the  busy  street.   a  loud  bus  horn  sounded.   feet  acted  on  instinct,   adrenaline  pumping  through  as  she  darted  over  -  almost  barely  missing  him.   digits  grasped  the  furred  hood  connected  to  the  cloak  he  was  wearing,  pulling  him  a  step  backward  so  the  vehicle  barely  grazed  his  front.

    𝐘𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐀𝐍'𝐓 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐁𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃! sure, his city has dumpling restaurants and the like, has pretty waitresses who could recite the entire menu, but this is BA SING SE! perhaps it’s the effect of a big city that makes yao chen feel that the experience is all the richer and better. he can’t even distinguish whether the waitress’s smile is genuine or a façade.

   ❛   thank you! 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐄! ba sing se is as they describe! grand, busy, exciting—my mother and I have been invited here by the earth king and his court to participate in a gala of sorts. I’m very excited to be visiting his majesty.    ❜     he gives her a wide smile as he contemplates his choices even though he’s made up his mind already.

     ❛   both of them! BRING ME BOTH! i’ve heard great things about this restaurant, so I’m sure everything here is fantastic!  ❜    

what  a  change  of  situation.   her  stance  steadied  considerably   –   after  all,   being  rooted  to  the  surface  below  their  feet  was  how  earthbenders  thrived.   now  she  had  a  illusion  to  keep,   that  ba  sing  se  was  perfect.   nothing  could  penetrate  the  wall,   the  perfect  defense.   at  least,   that’s  what  she  was  told  when  she  entered  the  city  almost  a  year  passed.

❛   oh   !   a  guest  of  the  earth  king,   i  had  no  idea.   ❜   embarrassment  flooded  through  her  body,   scalding  red  tints  appearing  in  blotches.   her  cheeks  flushed  from  her  childish  display.   her  boss’  words  echoed  in  her  head,   scoldings  from  the  elder  of  the  family.   ❛   f  –  forgive  me.   i’ll  go  put  in  your  order.   ❜   rock  connected  to  the  soles  of  her  shoes  allowed  her  to  skate  away  rather  quickly,   leaving  a  trail  of  dust  in  her  place.   the  details  were  given  to  the  front  of  house.   (   the  earth  king,   as  in  THE  earth  king   ?   you  better  give  him  top  tier  service,   girl   !   quickly,  go  pour  him  our  finest  tea.   )   hushed  whispers  were  exchanged  until  her  shoulders  sagged  with  an  exhaled  sigh.   he  was  at  her  table,   therefore  her  responsibility  to  entertain.

              it  was  hard  to  pretend  like  nothing  had  happened  after  just  coughing  up  blood  ,  but  hell  if  he  wasn’t  going  to  try.  he  uses  the  back  of  his  palm  to  wipe  the  excess  away.    ❛    so  anyway  ,  as  i  was  saying  ,  kesha  did  absolutely  nothing  wrong!    ❜

               scott seemed to pause, stalling almost. she’d gotten to this point, gotten away, but no matter how bad her chances were she just couldn’t bring herself to leave watson with the cult. she still needed a plan, however.     ‘ i don’t know … i don’t even know how much time i have before it finds me again. it’ll find a way. ’     a heavy sigh left her as she fiddled with some lose threads on her pants.     ‘ thank you … for everything. no matter what happens from here on out i want you to know how grateful i am … ’

               DO  YOU  WANT  THAT?    it  took  every  part  of  him  to  not  respond  with  ‘yes  ,  i  do.’  because  that  would  be  in  poor  taste  ,  that  would  be  depressing.  but  he  didn’t  care  ,  truth  be  told  ,  his  life  didn’t  hold  much  value  in  his  eyes  ,  after  all.  as  if  acting  directly  against  her  ,  he  pulls  two  pills  from  the  bag  he’d  procured  from  the  man  she’d  scared  away.  in  an  instant  they  were  on  his  tongue  ,  being  washed  down  with  vodka.    ❛    i  have  a  friend  who  works  at  a  hospital  ,  i’m  sure  he  wouldn’t  mind  the  visit.    ❜

                                    “ That maybe true, but not all of them                                        are  genuine,  you  know?   I  usually                                        have  to  prove  myself  that  I  didn’t                                        get  my   role   just   because  of  my                                       looks.    Proving   people   wrong   is                                       always refreshing I have to admit. ”

                        Zen brought up his beer to his mouth, taking a nice swig                 from it and enjoyed  the  burn  that greeted his throat. God, he                 might have to admit  he’s  a  bit  of  an  alcoholic, not that he’s                 actually got drunk often.  Then  again  it  took  a  lot more then                 beer to make him hazy.  The  actor  knew  better  then  to take                 risks like that during a company party though.  He was here to                be professional while still enjoying his time a little. 

interesting.   here  she  thought  that  sort  of  culture  was  far  off,   dead  even   !   to  hire  someone  and  praise  them  solely  based  off  their  looks   —   how  shallow  could  a  company  be   ?   and  how  shallow  could  a  person  be  to  presume  that  was  the  case   ?   the  reality  of  his  situation  was  like  a  smack  to  the  face.   brows  furrow  as  gears  began  to  turn  to  process  the  words  spoken.

    𝐁𝐀 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐄! it’s his first time here! it’s big and boisterous, much different from his family home city where everything is much calmer and gentler. he wouldn’t describe them as rural, but they were nothing like THIS BIG CITY, nothing like the bustle of innovation, fast-paced life. really, he’s here on a business trip with his mother, 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐇 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 to sit at their table with some other wealthy patrons, cultivators, and the like, but their stay in ba sing se is not within the palace. 

    on his own excursion, yao chen had WANDERED THE STREETS to admire the various vendor stalls–so many sweet and salty foods, so many clothes and jewelry. you could buy anything here! high noon and hungry, he meanders his way into a dumpling shop, taking a seat as the waitress comes to him.

   ❛   what do you recommend? it’s my 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 here!  ❜     

five  days  a  week  was  her  assistance  needed  in  the  aspect  of  the  restaurant.   more  often  than  not,   raven’s  abilities  were  needed  in  the  kitchen  to  keep  the  stove  going   —   not  today.   they  were  short  a  member  which  landed  her  in  the  food  service  department.

               like  he  needed  another  person  to  tell  him  that  drugs  were  bad  ,  or  weren’t  the  answer  ,  or  that  there  were  better  ways  to  cope  with  trauma.  he  didn’t  care  to  hear  it  ,  as  he’d  heard  it  all  before.  truth  be  told  ,  quitting  didn’t  seem  like  an  option  at  this  point.  his  expression  does  not  change  as  she  is  alerted  to  his  actions  ,  a  prompt  shrug  granted  in  response.    ❛    these  parties  have  the  cheapest  drugs,    ❜    he  muses.    ❛    we  all  have  our  own  vices.    ❜
