I hope this blog is a useful resource for anyone who wants to learn more about Sharon Carter & Captain America comics.

A happy ending! I really enjoy older comics because they tend to provide these emotional payoffs for readers.

I just really like that last panel of Sharon holding Steve (meanwhile Red Skull announces his evil plan).

This signals a change in the narrative. Sharon has something else to drive her now, and we now have a sense that Steve will be coming back sooner than later...

Sharon having another memory dream of recent events, this time involving Arnim Zola and Red Skull.

Peggy talking about Sharon to a mysterious figure, who she thinks is Steve Rogers. It’s actually William Burnside, who has his own history with Sharon that he doesn’t remember.

Red Skull is up to something, but Cap and Sharon don’t know that -- although Sharon knows that need to prioritise getting away, ASAP.

Sharon would’ve saved herself earlier, but she knew that she was a pawn in a bigger plan. Actually, Red Skull could have easily captured Steve as well, since he certainly had him incapacitated while the kidnap of Sharon occured. But Skill has figured out that Sharon is someone that Steve cares for, and that hurting her would be much more ‘effective’.

Anyway, they make a great team, as these panels show! The spy & the hero. It’s very clear that the Peggy/Steve dynamic in Captain America: The First Avenger drew heavily from Sharon/Steve of this era.
