Let’s just take a minute.

Things that are OK: gay girls n guys liking gay shit, straight girls liking it but not fetishizing it Things that are not OK: straight girls having their lives revolve around yaoi and guyxguy relationships, no matter how toxic or bad they may be, and making any non-straight people around them feel uncomfortable; basically fetishizing gay and bi guys while simultaneously being uncomfortable with lesbians

Oh come on. Guys get to have lesbian porn, ladies should get to have their yaoi. There’s a point where it becomes uncomfortable I’m sure but I wouldn’t take that as the norm.

No men get to have porn objectifying anybody, in this case lesbians, and no girls get to have media fetishizing gay male relations. Don’t normalize this.

I can’t stand… book culture. One time someone got me a canvas bag that was like “Books + Tea = Perfect Day” and I drove to goodwill with that shit so fast

Most books suck. Most books are goddamn awful or utterly extraneous. Don’t get me wrong, I think we’re deeply lucky to live in a world where most books can vanish without us losing anything culturally or intellectually, rather than a world where books are so scarce that a single person might own like twelve in a lifetime. But still. Books are easy to aestheticize as Magical Portals of Adventure and Whimsy if you only read maybe two genres

every one of these people gets so offended by the idea that i read pdfs of books on my laptop because it’s free and fast and I can read at night with the lights off. that I have a drive full of dworkin on my phone so I can sneak in a few pages in line at the store. and dont get me started on their thoughts on original works/fanfiction. like good god you know you’re supposed to enjoy reading right?

babe ur so right, I myself prefer having a physical book in my hand that I can flip the pages of, but having downloads of radfem writings is a power move, and getting to read on the little computer you carry with you every where is awesome, as well as reading without having to turn on the lights, and god do I love fanfiction

honestly same, like maybe it’s cuz with fanfiction we already have exposition/backstory (at least enough to fill in blanks) and feelings about the characters so fic can just jump right in to a story, or base a story around a specific internal development

also very fucking tired of female space marines, warriors, and knights having no muscles whatsoever compared to their ripped, beefy male counterparts.

also very fucking tired of female characters being introduced as qualified professionals but never get a chance to show their abilities

also very fucking tired of female characters who are taller, bigger, bulkier, etc. not being considered attractive

fatigued at the young, inexperienced white male protagonist one-upping the ‘uptight but hot’ female at something she’s apparently trained at for years
