An Art Blog

I figured out how to do it, so I might end up discontinuing this blog and leaving it as an archive, and starting a new blog. I went back and tagged most, if not all, of my original art posts how I wanted, but I realized along the way that a lot of it is OCs from high school (whom I won’t return to) and vent art. Again, I don’t necessarily want to delete it all, but I also don’t want to stay attached to it. It’s a bit of a silly, long-term thing, but if I end up really focusing on my art, I don’t want to risk someone going wayyy back and dredging up stuff I wanted to keep private. (And I can’t edit old posts to turn off reblogs, I tried.)

Also with the vent art: There’s just a lot from when I was going through a major depressive period from what I now realize was undiagnosed autism and ensuing burnout. Intense feelings but poor quality of art, and it didn’t feel very good to look at and read through (even when I tried to keep that at a minimum). I just want to leave it behind and be able to have something I could present if I ever apply for future art projects without worrying about my old vent stuff being seen.

I didn’t really want to make this decision because I spent hours re-tagging things and it’s kind of a waste, but having gone through it all, I think it might be better if I made a separate blog. I’ve been thinking on it for a long time, anyway.

The new blog is @doodling-robot (brand new, so the @ link isn’t working and it doesn’t have any posts as of right now). shankedbyroses will be connected to @shankedbyroses-admin (it’s a blog that solely exists to preserve this one and any other abandoned side blogs I might end up with; don’t bother following it).

I might end up still using this to post venty type of art to keep it separate from my “real” art blog, but it isn’t going to be the one I focus on. More of a private affair with wayyyy fewer tags, I guess.
