Today was not.. a very lovely day, you may say. And that in itself was an understatement..
It was a day filled with a lot of unwanted bitterness, and a whole serving of gross feelings of solitude, and worst of all, a longing for something thats now gone.
Things you wanted, things you were waiting for, are not here now.
The world you grew up in doesn't exists anymore.
And because of that, what seemed like the usual tiring days of fatigue became an extremely sour and depressing one.
" My dear, are you alright? " Pierrot walks in on you, spotting your exhausted form completely reclined into the dull couch of your apartment.
Not sparing another thought, he strides towards you, instantly sitting down as his hands gently, ever so lovingly, hold yours.
"My dove.. Light of my life, what happened..?" Pierrot asks you, gently cupping your face. His heart aches at the sight of your teary eyes, and the way your face pales slightly at whatever may be weighing you down so much.
"I just.. I-I miss a place- a-.." You pause, sniffling before covering your face as you sob.
School.
It wasn't an easy feat, anyone could say school was easy, or that it was fun. But the truth?
The truth is that school took so many years of your life. Years of hard work, effort, time, patience, strength, and most importantly -
Memories.
To you, though? Despite everything that happened, you still made it out of that place.
With both painful and joyous moments to hold onto, with both regret and relief. Emotions so contradicting, yet existed to perfectly within each other, because that is what that cursed and blessed place brought to you. Feelings that did not make sense next to each other, yet blended so beautifully together.
But recently, you received news of something you did not expect. Nothing could have prepared you for it at all.
That very same place you were fond of, a home more than your own home, had been shattered. Gone.
Reduced to faded ashes and dust.
Only to be replaced by some sort of unnamed building.
It filled you with shock. Then rage. Then finally, you just.. felt numb.
Numb, and tired.
Like you lost a piece of yourself.
"I-I lost something, a-and.. and I won't ever get it back, ever..!" You sob and sniffle, hands frantically wiping away tears of sorrow and pain.
Pierrot remains quiet. He was familiar, oh so familiar, with that horrifying sense of loss. The feeling that something is gone, and is not returning ever again, except perhaps in blissful dreams.
"My dear.. My dearest one, look at me," Pierrot's words snap you out of your strong emotional flood, forcing you to set your gaze on him.
His expression, it looked wounded, as if what hurt you, hurt him just that much too.
Pierrot's hands that cupped your face, slowly moved to wipe away your tears with his thumb, putting extra care into not accidentally scratching you with his sharp claws. His hands remain against your cheeks, as he continues to speak in his soothingly deep tone, "I.. Dear one, I may not know what you have lost exactly, but.. but whatever it may be, know that its never fully gone,"
HIs hand slides down to your chest, right above your heart, and gently pats it spot there, "Your heart knows it, and keeps a piece of what you may assume is lost, but in reality, a part remains with you along the way, even if you cannot see it nor feel its presence anymore,"
You look at Pierrot and sniffle once more, before leaning in to hug him. your face flush against his chest, your eyes flutter shut with a tired sigh. Pierrot's arms move quickly, wrapping around your form to keep you close, as the sound of his heartbeat against your ear gradually lulls you to sleep.
" Don't worry my dove, I am here for you, even if all may seem lost.. I am here.. " He quietly whispers his gently sweet and comforting words, his golden eyes taking in your sleeping form with a hint of bittersweet affection.
